please support this statement.

He can't, and hasn't, and probably won't, because there's no way to support that. It's an opinion. Vick was under Center for how many consecutive plays this year? There's no way to create a basis that Vick would have been able to deal with the situation any better than McNabb.

Unless McNabb was taking a bribe for throwing the game. I'm starting to think that he's got some really severe personal issues going on we don't know about. Quick, someone make sure he's not staying at the Tiger Woods' room before he gets a football to the face!

Good list from philly.com on players who should stay or go

"Stays" I would like to see
Kolb

Vick-Still dont like him as a person, but who around is a better number two at this point
Nick COle
Curtis-lost a step, but still a good player at the number 4 WR spot
Gillis
Justice
Peters
Abiamiri
Patterson
Mikell
Babin
Fokou
Demps
Harris-only as a last resort
"GO" list
McNabb
Eldra Buckly-only becuase I want to see and pgrade here
Brown
Clemons-need to upgrade here
Dixion
Howard
Hobbs
Mays
Trotter-thanks ax man, you played on pure heart, but your knees and speed is shot

As much as I hate to say it, 5 must go. I'm not sure how much of the team's recent failures are his or whether he can perform better in another town, but the 5 & Cap'n Andy act is no longer entertaining (think Lewis & Martin), and since Reid isn't going anywhere.

5 must.

My two cents… trade McNabb and Vick to (2) QB hungry teams for draft picks / defensive players that will make an immediate impact. St. Louis, Buffalo, Cleveland come to mind and quite possibly Arizona, Minnesota and Denver. Give Kolb the reigns to FB’s rice rocket of an offense and see what the “kids” can do with the ball. Bring in Garcia to back up.
They must re-sign Weaver and Avant.
Hopefully the Andrews sisters come back healthy (physically and mentally).
Address this cluster-fuck of a defense with the picks / players acquired. Bradley will definitely help this defense next year, but that doesn’t begin to make it a reliable defense. They have to figure out the whole secondary issue. Would Sheldon move to safety? I do believe I saw him line up at safety in the Dallas game for a few plays in the second half, correct?
That leaves them searching for a CB, DE and a pair of LB’s. I would like to see them get a stud DT and a DE to go along with Trent Cole, but DT’s don’t seem to be favored by this regime.
But, in the end, we all know they won’t get rid of McNabb. They fear that he would then go to another team and win a SB, exposing the real reason the trophy case is still empty.
BTW - If Dallas wins the SB, Reid should be fired the next morning.

Garcia is DONE! There is a ton of bad QB back ups and no one called him this last year. Even after he was in Raiders camp, they still brought in Frye!

Here are the results of the “Stay or Go” Voting.

Granted, the 260 “Go” votes Avant got were the lowest of any player, but what the Hell is wrong with those 260 people? Are they geriatric Florida voters or does Reggie Brown have a really big family?

Avant was one of the big bright spots, and outside of Jackson seems to be the only WR on the team comfortable going over the middle. When Jackson got hurt, he was the only guy willing to do it and stick his neck out.

Teams need players like Avant.

I was really pissed that it took so long for them to target him, and after he had some success, they suddenly stopped. Maybe Dallas took him out of the game, too, but I doubt it.

I find it hard to believe that Dallas took out Celek, Jackson, Avant and Maclin. Unless they doubled up all of them and didn't bother covering the RB's, because no one figured Philly would run the ball?

If McNabb was looking to go 20+ yards on every play, that would take away any time he had to get the short->intermediate passes off. By the time he had a chance to go to his next progression, the rush was there.

That's exactly what it looked like McRib was doing all game, as the middle crossing patterns looked like they would've been wide open all day had the fat man actually called any of those plays.

McNabb can't throw the middle crossing pattern.

To me it seems like those are the throws he seems to worm-burn, put behind the receiver, or throw so hard that nobody can catch. A buddy of mine pointed out that McNabb also seems to get more of those picked off than one would think (i.e., a greater % of his picks are on crossing routes than seems reasonable). Maybe that's another reason he doesn't throw that ball very often - doesn't want to hurt his precious TD/Int ratio.

McNabb doesn't create the plays that are called that require him to look downfield first and then check down to short passes. WCO requires setting up short passes to spread the field.

That it seems McNabb was looking downfield that often on so many passing plays, it just spotlights that Reid is the one that is causing McNabb to fail. Reid stays in charge, and that's Laurie's fault. Blame has to go with Laurie if Reid refuses to fix the problem.

Not earth shattering, but Eskin apparently said the Eagles want McNabb back and there's an "85% chance" he returns. He also apparently said Westbrook is done as an Eagle and likely done in the NFL. He has a knee issue that is more serious than they thought and will most likely require surgery that will be difficult to come back from and definitely not in Philly.

For fuck's sake, they just need to cut ties with McNabb. While I've stated many times I believe the Kolb era will be a disaster, they should just get some draft picks for McNabb before he balloons to 300lbs.

It's all going to come down to him being healthy enough to produce. If the brothers Andrews come back healthy and in game condition (as with Jackson), they won't need to worry about bringing in more than the new project for the OLine later in the draft.
