Ok Julamy-
If "the law of the jungle" doesn't mean anything to you, how about the "word of God"?
1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
-Genesis 9:1

You're mixing metaphors, Fred.
Vacilating between scripture (which is filled with parables about animal sacrifice that some modernites would argue is cruelty) and the laws of man isn't going to win me over.
It's also curious that you cite a biblical passage dealing with flora (green plants) and fauna.
Because certain plant life -- for example marijuana, magic mushroom, peyote -- the Lord supposedly gave us dominion over is deemed illegal by segements of human kind.
And we've also ceded control over animal slaughter, safety and consumptions standards to government.
For that matter, religious sects that sacrifice animals (Santeria practitioners) have gone to the Supreme Court for validation of the legality of that practice.
And certain Native Americans are permitted to use peyote in religious rites.
But animal sacrifice and recreational use of naturally occurring drugs is verboten in larger society.
So whose authority takes precedence, divine or mortal?
(Just btw, my father's a Bible-thumping Baptist minister who drilled the scripture into my skull from a young age, so you might want to pick another battle ground if we continue this.)

How is that "vacillating" between that passage and what I said earlier? Clearly they are the same.
Now if you want to talk about "animal sacrifice in Santeria", I'd say that you are the one changing the subject.
My whole point is/was, if you're gonna kill something- eat it. Otherwise you just wasted everybody's time
In any case, I've pretty much said all I wanted to about the subject- and Neag summed it up pretty well on the last page.
