I get your point about support across the board, but we've dealt with ownership/management that believes it's won multiple championships (salary cap and otherwise) and carried itself that way b/c the other 3 sports were losers and they are the hit in town.

Now, the Phils are World Champions (OF THE WORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDD) and are about to show the fans appreciation and a parade. No fake titles or pyrite championships...just a real title. THIS is what the fans want to see - not empty promises of lost run games and competitiveness. And certainly not the stuff that one sees from playing only the Franchise mode in Madden without playing the games.

Forget the Eagles - the only way to top this is if they want to one-up the Phils and win a SB, but that ain't happenin'.

Exactly...this is congratulating someone for scratching off a lottery ticket and winning $300 million dollars, while no one says a thing to the Eagles (who have a financially stable small engine repair shop).

Exactly. The Eagles figured out a long time ago while managing their salary cap that it is 1000x easier to win a World Series than it is to win multiple Super Bowls.

Banner factored that the Phillies were going to win this 5 years ago. It's a product of the Eagles being net ahead. To him, this is only confirmation that the Eagles are right where they want to be.

The real parade is right around the corner folks.

I predict someone snaps a shot of Cap'n Andy with a cheeseteak in one hand a 44oz drink in the other standing at the window enjoying the parade.

I don't particularly see this as an easy win. The Sea Hags always seem to give the Birds fits for some reason. Still cant get that 42-0 beat down out of my head, but heres hoping something good happens.
