I saw on the Inquirer website where single game tickets are going on sale tomorrow. Has anyone ever had any luck scoring any of them or are they usually gone in minutes?

I got lucky last year and snagged a pair to the Lions game.

My thinking was that everyone would be trying for the Giants, Skins, and Fagboys so I just clicked on the Lions game and waited.

At first I thought I was going to get shut down cause it kept saying I had a 5 minute wait then it went to 10. I figured it was toast but then it went to a 1 minute wait then I was in. I also transmitted my request at the exact time they went on sale. Not sure if that mattered or not. Just had some luck that day.

The tickets weren't that great. Last row on the goal line. But hey they were face value.

In a show of greed that likely will tick off many here who have no season tix like myself, and want to badly see a game/any game at face value-

The wife has made a quasi annual ritual of scoring multiple sets of tix via multiple browsers/computers (2) and then reselling them on EBAY.

She has a knack for it- I dont. Ive tried and time out.

And youd think my server here would be lightening fast compared to the FIOS at home. I dunno.

I've done what Seth mentioned with Redskins Obstructed View Tickets and sold them on ebay for more than 4 times face value.

Four tickets for 30 bucks each. You really can't lose.

if more of the "good kids" out there were half as enterprising as I, they wouldnt need to beat old women about the face, neck, head and chest for their purses, etc.

Or kill kids at graduation.

Or sell crack.

Just sayin'.

This year trying to get any of these left over tickets was a fucking joke.

I found out from some folks that if you requested 3 or 4 tickets for any game you were outtanZ. I got in right away but because I requested 4 tixs for the Falcons I was rejected.

Most people got 1 or 2 tickets that I spoke to.

I'm still waiting to see were I'm at on the Eagles season ticket waiting list after 5 years. They never post that shit anywhere that I know of.

What is the point of having a waiting list if you can't at least tell folks were they stand. I could see the point if it was 1977 but we do have computers now so how about giving us some info.

I've been on the waiting list since 1990 or 1991. I think I'm on it twice, actually. I have tried several times in recent years to get some semblance of a clue as to my spot in line, but the only times they have ever called me is to try and sell me a seat license or single season club level seats for insane amounts of money. Each time I politely decline but tell them to keep me on the list for regular seats. Who knows if they did or not. The entire waiting list is a total sham - you probably have to know a guy that knows a guy.

I've heard that there's something like 60,000 names on the waiting list right now. Considering the recent Super Bowl appearance that's probably a pretty fair estimate. I've been following the Birds for over 30 years, had season tix since '87. In all that time, I've never once heard of someone getting seats through the waiting list. That doesn't mean the list's a sham but face it, Philly's a football town and tix will always be hard to come by.

I think your best bet is to do what I did. A friend of mine knew this guy who had a large group of seats and a number of his people dropped out when they made 622 the family section. My friends and I were happy to take over the remaining tickets. Of course, no one's gonna drop out right now but wait till McNabb or Reid move on. If you know anyone who's got season tickets, they may be looking to fill a few spaces.

Also, at the Vet, season ticket holders had the option of expanding their packages -- that is, they could buy up extra seats around them, if they were available. Don't know if that's the case at the Linc. Where I sit now it's pretty much the same faces every week, so there's probably not much chance of that. At least for now.

The "waiting" list is really nothing more than a mailing list. If you're on it, you get catalogs, email offers etc. The Eagles won't tell the people on it where they stand, what their ranking is. That means the Eagles can place you where they want to, based on whatever criteria they decide.

I'm sure they will eventually find a way to sell it on.

I read a DN column (Hoffman?) that said ticket turnover was about a dozen seats a year. Let's say that the list is only 30k and there is a turnover of 24 seats a year. That means that if you are number 30,000, your wait for tickets is 2500 years.

At least they didn't try what the Jets did and charge a "list maintenance" fee of $50.

When I moved here, I asked the Eagles about transfering my tickets to someone else or adding a name to my account. They said the tix were nontransferable (which I expected) and that adding a name to the account would cost $2500 (a PSL) even though the seats were in the upper level. I thanked them for their time and hung up.

About two weeks later, I simply changed my mailing address to my friend's and kept the seats in my name.

Wow. Things really have changed. The guy I originally got my tickets from eventually opted out altogether and simply signed the package over to me. No fee, no nothing. But that was at the Vet and it was during the Kotite era. I'll be interested to see how many of these fees are still in effect when the Eagles go into their next rebuilding phase.

I'm still kicking myself for giving up my season tix after the Carolina NFCCG. I could have had a nice 2nd income through stub hub.

Dino

If I ever get my hands on Eagles season tickets I would never sell just mainly for the reason you mentioned.

My brother has season tickets to the Foreskins in the last row of the staduim. My sister law put her name on the list and they waited 20 years to get them.

When he first got them I said what are you a Deadskin fan now? He said Hell no, I just sell em to all the stupid Skins fans on Ebay and double and triple my money every year.

Selling is always an option and right now it's a pretty lucrative one. Keep in mind, however, that the Eagles still consider you responsible for the behavior of the people you sell to. If anything gets out of hand you could have your ticket plan revoked. And considering how uptight some people are at the Linc, that could easily happen. Two years ago, a security guard told me, in no uncertain terms, to take my feet off the seats in front of me. And this was in the middle of the fourth quarter of a preseason game. The people in front of me weren't coming back. And these weren't club seats either. I sit high enough in the upper level that I didn't have to pay a Builder's Fee (or whatever they called it) when I switched stadiums.

Impossible to be on the list since 90 or 91. The waiting list did not start at least until the early 2000s. I called and got season tickets starting in 99 for the 700 level (707). Now I sit in 204 at the Linc.

Yup, I just hopped on to share the same news article. I faxed in my paperwork. My favorite part was this gem: 99.7% of season tickets holders renew. No wonder there is utterly no turnover.

Now let's see if they stick to that "You will be contacted back with your place in line in less than 48 hours" promise.

Maybe I'll hear back before 2011. At least this time they seem to be taking it seriously.

I just got the same email - a reply to my fax. I updated all my contact info and UNCHECKED several of the email spam lists.

So...we're pushed back to late August until they actually tell us our spot in line. Oh, with baited breath I shall wait.

Given our chances of actually being high enough on the list to get tickets over the next 10+ years, this is essentially a marketing operation.

Now: Loose excel spreadsheet (probably) or a few file boxes of all the random signups sheets they used over the last 10 years.

August: Verified mailing addresses and no-effort email spam list "signups" from fans that clearly took some effort. Marketing gets a more tightly tailored list of folks to get more Eagles news, items, merchandise, and related advertising. They also have all the data in one place AND spend less time and money sending postal spam to old addresses.

It makes great sense for them to finally care. Our actual spot in line is trivial to this project.
