I was really hoping for a great comeback year from McNabb. Obviously it can still happen, but this isn't the start I was looking for.

I'm with you.
It's definitely not out of the question, but you hate to see something like this even early on.
You have to wonder if another in his long history of bizarre training methods has potentially caused some harm.

For a team that is run by suspicious control freaks, it's hard to understand why they would give him so much freedom to pursue these radical off-season training regimens.

Man, this is nothing more than a strained trapezius which in turn is causing pain in a related muscle region. He'll be fine with rest.
On a related note, I heard Hugh talking about how McNabb used to walk around with his shirt off, and walk up to guys like "What's up?"- just to show "what he was working with" and to show how hard he'd been working in the off-season.
Hilarious.

BI, I don't know the nature of the "tendinitis". If he has a conventional subacromial-subdeltoid "bursitis" which would be common with a thrower, then no problem outside of rest, anti-inflammatories, etc. I wouldn't even have him throw if that was it, to avoid scarring.
If he had a biceps tendinitis (passes through the rotator cuff), then its the same treatment but less concerning in prognosis provided he doesn't have a tendon tear.
If he has a true RTC tendinitis (usually involves supra and infra-spinatus tendons), then the most important issue is to know if he has a tear or not. If he does, he HAS to rest and get reevaluated so he doesn't get a full thickness tear down the road. Someone also has to intervene on his off-season work out program because a cuff tear would be devastating.
I just don't know what he has, BI. I'm not particularly worried, because if it were a tear of any of those tendons, he shouldn't be throwing at all. Or maybe the FO wants that to showcase the New Hope?

I'm telling you Jules, McNabb- if nothing else, is a beast. Vodka and Marlboro Lights notwithstanding.
I'll talk shit about him all day long, but if he confronted me I'd have to shoot him

FB, he'd joke you to death.
I'm hoping he rebounds this year. I think my disdain of all forms of "management"/"establishment" have led to this.

If he's about to punch you, try to be as still as possible, keep your arms pinned at your sides, and wait it out.
You might be the unlucky one, but he's a little wild and you could get off with a bruised shoulder.

Hmmm....no mention by the Philly papers (no surprise) of Reid abruptly ending his "news conference" when asked if McNabb's injury changes the perception of his durability.
Listened to Asskiss for like 30 seconds yesterday on the ride home, and he was berating the reporter for asking a "poorly worded question". I think the reporter was Seltzer from 950.
Either way, you blatantly lie about the non-issue injury, then get mad when someone asks you about perceptions of his durability (which we all know are there, since this cat hasn't been healthy since throwing up in Jacksonville)?
As stated before - they could've diffused this non-issue before it became an issue. Then they could focus on their new slogan - "Eagles 2008: One.....more in the mix!"

I like how Mikey Miss takes Asskiss head on. When guys would call up Jody Mac and complain about "that other guy on that other station" he would just brush it off and get the caller's point (if he had one) whereas Miss is not shy about flat-out insulting Eskin. Less gentleman-like, but a lot more entertaining, and deserving.
Threadjack over.

I love it too. And Im thankful that I now have some sports talk to listen to again after work.
Mikey Miss rips into The Wolfman so often, im almost guaranteed to hear a dig on the short ride home.

Asskiss has a hard-on for the entire station. From that stupid "swear your alliegance to me" he had with a caller that admitted on-air to calling 950, to him getting scooped about Lito (though it's not a real story, it at least shows the mentality of the front office), he's had it in for 950. He and pretty much everyone at 610 (for entertainment purposes only).
Agreed with Seth about finally having some ST to listen to on the drive home.

It would seem that maybe Max "Husky Jeans" Gilles isnt the lock to crack the starting line up like was widely speculated by some in the media.
He isnt gettin the Shawn Andrews Reps, a guy who resembles an NBA Power Fwd is apparently who they wanna get a look at there at GUARD- not the, um, 'stouter' Gilles.
And from mumblings outta the OTAs, (outta OTAs?)Herremans has looked good and 'risen to the challenge". Ugh.

These quotes are less than inspiring, if you're one of the say, 100 left in the DE Valley still in this kids corner who hoping that the Birds werent dupped when they moved up to secure this kid's services in the draft.
These are excerpts from Geoff Mosher's article today.
"After the practice, a puzzled Justice sat before his locker stall and responded to questions with expressions of bewilderment.
"I've never played guard before," Justice said.
The team easily could have inserted reserve guard Max Jean-Gilles in Andrews' place. Jean-Gilles, a fourth-round pick in 2006, is trying to unseat left guard Todd Herremans for the starting job but has experience at right guard, only adding to speculation that the coaches have given up hope in Justice's future at tackle.
"Because I probably didn't look that good at guard," he said. "[Today], I probably won't be at guard. I don't know."
"I just looked at it as, if they want me to play that, I'll try to do it the best I can," Justice said.
*****************************************
I know we've all be over what H.Douglas said about no 'fight' in Justice. And while it looked that way vs the Giants that nite last yr, no outward signs of frustration or anger- these quotes do serve (sorry Winston) to kinda let Hugh's take on Justice grab some footing in the back of my mind.
These arent the kinda quotes you'd expect from someone with a whole lotta proving to do this summer.
These arent the kinda quotes you see outta most established players. After 1 day, sounding defeated. (Perhaps thinking he could subtly get his point across he prefers tackle? At this point, I guess I'll hope for that).

Sad little excerpt from the DN today on MacDougal:
Birds have played 80 regular-season games since trading up to draft the quick pass rusher from Miami. He has appeared in 33 of them. He has three career sacks.
"Maybe they're a little bit down on me, but I feel like I'm right there," McDougle said yesterday. "Just like last year, I had a pretty good training camp, but I've just got to stay healthy. That's been the consummate theme of this movie, not staying healthy . . . I'm a warrior. They know that I have it in me."
In other news- Klecko, who supposedly slimmed down to play FB, is now too small even by Eagles standards to play the DL, per the DN.
Thanks for tryin Dan.

Why the "ugh"? I'm kinda rooting for Herremans to come back (hoping the knee was hurting him a but last year).

i took the "ugh" to mean the other guys they had challenging him weren't doing the job, so they are spinning it like herremans is playing better than he is.
