I guess I should start posting in blue again.

But my assessment of 85 is really how I feel. I think if the guy wants to yap in media about the other team, it shouldn't affect how you (as a teammate) approach the game. It puts all the pressure on him to perform, and gives these other guys a scapegoat (if they lose). As long as he didn't jump in my face, I'd have no problem with him. Of course, guys he's had a problem with, only they can speak on their feelings. My guess is if he jumped in their faces, there was a reason? If anything, you'd think that one of the major guys tired of his act would be the QB, since that's usually the case when a primadonna WR blows up, yes? "Get me the ball" syndrome? So it makes me think that maybe the guys complaining they don't like the way he came at them, maybe there was something there (like guys dogging it-and playing for the Bungles, is that really a stretch?), instead of him being the stereotypical "T.O.-type personality".

All speculation BTW.

The difference between him and TO is that TO, despite his yapping, brought the goods.

Ochenta y cinco isn't a good enough player to yap like he does, start a fight with coaches, or demand he play elsewhere.

Fighting with coaches notwithstanding- he's still one of the better WRs in the game right now. Nobody's T.O., that's a given.
One thing with 85, you ARE gonna get 110 percent, every game and in practice. Can you say that about the Bungles across the board? Maybe that's why guys didn't like him- who knows? For sure, having a big mouth can get you in trouble if unchecked.

Bengals | Lewis says team will not trade C. Johnson
Mark Curnutte, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Wednesday, Feb. 13, that the team will not trade WR Chad Johnson. "No. 1, the guy has a contract through 2011, OK," Lewis said. "No one within the Bengals organization has ever spoken of or ever uttered anything about trading Chad Johnson, nor will he be traded." The Bengals would take an $8.03 million salary cap hit if they traded or released Johnson before June 1.
