OK I heard on ESPN this morning that #5 was benched and that his sprain wasn't that bad?!? now this was said leading into a commercial break but they didn't really talk about it much afterwards... I don't have comcast(only problem I have with DirectTV) so wasn't able to see any of the local postgame stuff was there any discussion of this or more to the pointis it possible Reid actually did sit him down using the injury as an excuse???

The ankle he twisted was on his injured leg, right?

I can see why they didn't want to risk anything.

f-d, I know it was an injury but as said by others in the past he would have played through it... and after the half seeing him walk on the sideline, walk not limp gave me a little pause... I'm not sure and nobody will ever know for certain what really happened, but to me it looked like he was having an off day and with the 1 year anny of his ACL injury on his mind I think Reid took advantage of taking him out of the game...

I don't think there is any conspiracy behind it. He turned the ankle and said he wasn't able to do his drops, so he sat down.

He also banged his thumb on a helmet, so his hand was swollen.

As soon as he left the game, they turned into the Steelers offense (they ran about 60% of the time the rest of the way), so they could have done that with McNabb still in the game if he could still go. I think they that for whatever reason, the injury bothered him to the point where he couldn't come back, but there wasn't a conspiracy or anything.

I still think that as a younger guy he'd have played through it.

Question is, why won't FB ever turn it into the Steelers offense with McMartyr in there?

Why does it have to be Garcia, Feeley, Neckbeard, or someone else for FB to clue into the value of a running game?

Sarge, getting the answer to that question would be like getting blood from a stone.

Just surrender, like I have.

I think the real issue is if he doesnt play against New England, Do you ever start him again. I would give Kolb the experience and find out whether they made the right draft choice. To those who say the eagles need to play McNabb to shop him are wrong. Whoever wants Mcnabb in the offseason (Minnesota, Chicago) will still want him if he doesnt play another down this year. I say don't let him hurt our trade value by letting him risk further injury. He has mentally checked out already.

Teams that would take McNabb:

Chicago.....perfect storm/timing for them. Horror show for them at QB, McNabb would be a huge upgrade.

Miami.....not sure if they'd do it, but they could use him.

Minni.....Childress will continue to raid Reid's mostly empty pantry.

Baltimore....they are like the Raider's of old picking up players past their prime.

Atlanta....not sure how they will adress the offseason, but they may take the guy from Hawaii if Miami doesn't. Either way, they could both consider Used Up #5.

KC....not sure if they are true believers in Brady Croyle. McNabb could have 3-4 good years in him with a good caste, and I think Herm Edwards would utilize him better. Tony Gonzalez is the Chad lewis that McNabb misses.

He stays away form a team that plays in Florida.

KC sounds good (even better for the Birds since they're in the AFC), but I think he'll find some way to get himself to Chicago.

KC would be a perfect spot for Mcnabb if they could ever get their "D" together. Decent run game, All Pro TE and servicable WR's. Herm would run the ball and let Supah 5 make throws that are more in line with his skill set like deep outs and stuff over the middle to Tony G.

" He stays away form a team that plays in Florida."

But imagine the marketing opportunities... I'd set up a McNabb barf bag stand at every home game.
