the more I think of it the more I think it's virtually impossible that a guy with that build and the numbers of injuries he's suffered to have played in SF for 7 years without testing the waters and the second Balco has offices setup in his hometown and the town of his current team.
When T.O. first came into the league, he already was a freak of nature size and speed wise. He just needed to learn the pro game and what was necessary to perform at that level every week (aka Rice 101)
Unlike Bonds.
Just sayin

Fred, he could be using them for injury time, and to make it easier to stay big. That wouldn't surprise me at all

So could anybody else in the NFL, including punters and QBs. Why single him out for suspicion?
Love,

What KB is referring to...
"They busted a distributor who worked with current and former players for the Cowboys and Falcons. Owens works in Dallas, lives in Atlanta, and is having he best year of his career at age 34."

Yeah, and it doesn't add up to much more than wild suspicion and innuendo.
T.O. hasn't been busted for so much as a traffic ticket, yet here we go again.

There's a big difference between saying "it's logical" and "i wouldn't be surprised" and just flat out accusing.
This is a messageboard. We're killing time by talking about things that look like they could possibly be linked.
Don't worry, none of us are actually persecuting your boyfriend.

.....its not about getting big or jacked. Its the recovery aspects of these items that would be oooooh so tempting to the likes of Owens and a lot of other guys in their 30's and coming off big time injuries.

What me worry?
I just haven't seen anything to make me suspect Owens for that. He's always been a freak since day one- and you'd have thought if he was using, they'd have caught him by now. It's not like some people wouldn't want to catch him, with him being the "most popular" personality in the league and all.
Hey, maybe he was- I don't know and I don't care. I know he's not on the Eagles anymore, and they ain't going back to the Dance anytime soon.

T.O. hasn't been busted for so much as a traffic ticket, yet here we go again.
Dude was the 12th WR taken in 1996 and the 89th player taken overall, so let's not pretend he was the best athlete available in that draft.
Owens has always been big physically, but if we've learned anything about these drugs over the past few years, big is small fraction of what they do.
I'm simply saying that lookign like he does and dominating in SF when Balco was running that town automatically puts a watchful eye on him in some ways. Now a guy just got busted for providing Falcons and Cowboys players with performance enhancing drugs and those are the cities where Owens works and lives.
Just pointing it out...

fair enough-
It's not like it's the first time someone has wondered about Owens and steroids.
Maybe you (and they) are right.
I still think he's better than Moss.

I agree with you that a lot of people are using, but the NFL seems to escape criticism and they even made Shawn Merriman the "Defensive Player of the Year" in the same season he tested positive/was suspended.
Who's going to criticize the NFL?
Not the media - showing/covering NFL games is a bona fide money maker.
Not the government - they've shown to be selective about attacking the NFL (and especially the monopoly they have with DirecTV)
Not the fans - most don't care that these guys are ruining their bodies and their concerns will be drowned out by the "look at the GOOD we do and how you guys are entertained!" media blitz by the NFL.
There are more people doing roids/HGH in the NFL than anywhere else, and sometimes a sacrificial lamb will be thrown out there (like Merriman) to give the image that the NFL's drug testing policy is on point.
Even if it's all the way out in left field, stuff like "Playmakers" and "Blitz: The League" give more isight into the sordid underbelly of the NFL than anything else you'll find on the TV/papers.
