I don't remember the specific comment. I ripped you in a way that would make F_B point it out and say "why's everybody always picking on me", but that probably makes you see it and move on to the next post. Honestly don't remember which specific comments they were.
Keep my name out your mouf with the other hens.

Ok, among others, I pointed out your penchant for laying your keys in semen and compared you to Charlie from "Flowers for Algernon".

I'm of the mi8nd that Akers has lost something given his consistent decline over the past few years, but this comment from the Spuds article today was interesting (regarding kickoff coverage and return units):
There is no speed, no explosion. None on kickoff coverage, either. Good thing David Akers is kicking off so well.
Why point out that he's "kicking off so well" given the fact that it doesn't appear to most that he is?
I wonder if he's being asked to keep the ball in the air longer at the expense of distance because they don't have enough speed to cover a deep kick and even a kick into the end zone may lead to a long broken return because of that lack of speed?
I'm just throwing it out there because I'm trying to figure out why so many people would independently notice his kickoffs appearing shorter and Spuds would take time out to praise them.

how in the hell is the stadium half empty with half a quarter to go in a division game that is back and forth and your team is fighting for a playoff spot?
Redskin fans are the worst.

Well, Reid went out of his way yesterday to praise the ST, so we know where that's coming from. Still, did I read that stat right that they have NO returns over 30 yards? That's embarrassing on many levels.
The other thing to note is that if Curtis has some sense of awareness and got the first down, Akers probably makes that kick and this point is moot.

I had to go to extremeskins for a quick look at their reaction and it's most misery, but there is quite a bit of bitching about the refs "wearing green" and losing the game for the Skins.
Refs make bad calls all the time, but how can that game be blamed on the refs? Turnovers and a 4th quarter collapse were 100% to blame there and the penalties that kept the first TD rive alive, while fortunate for the Eagles, were obvious calls.

Gregg Williams is a fraud. It didn't even look like the defense gameplanned for the Birds, even though they tried the "get their best guy's brother in here to practice against", and yet he still tore them up.
The turnover they had didn't hurt as much as some of the playcalls, especially on defense. That screen play doesn't happen if the Redskins don't play stupid and wonder why the protection isn't there anymore.
Nevertheless, a win is a win. I just don't want to hear talk about it turning the season around or "we're better than our record".
BTW, the Birds are -10 on Sunday. E-GADS.

Another BTW - run with this from Lucha Latte:
"Yeah I need it ... like I need a cheeseburger right now.''
-- Philadelphia coach Andy Reid, when I asked him how badly he needed the Eagles' come-from-behind, season-saving win at Washington. He was serious, because he was starving and the postgame spread in the visiting coaches' office was pretty grim.

I'm sure I missed some audio in the bar while watching the game this week, but did you guys catch that Buck was benched this week? I know he isn't going to get many carries, but how can they set him as Inactive? Is he hurt?
Tony Hunt isn't terrible, but I'd rather have Buck running in those situations.

There were a few shots of the crowd during the game, and in one of them I swear I saw someone that looked disturbingly like the "Prez" from the DTC. He was sporting full regalia with oversized Smoot jersey, sideways baseball cap, etc. Then again, there's probably more than a few people in that crowd that look like that.
Anyone else catch that?

I found these Philly Inquirer news items to be mildly interesting.
Dawkins volunteered to play kick coverage after Westbrook's gimme TD run in the 4th quarter and Reid let him do it.
Hey, even the veteran with the neck injury is trying to get the ST guys to care about their work.

Saw that, just by tuning in to Andy Reid's day afer press conference.
Other tidbits: Will James was benched. Darren Howard was part of the goal-line package. And Jevon Kearse is being used much less. Redskins allowed the last touchdown. And Shephard is still hurt. Also, the Eagles had 3 safeties in on the goal line stand.
It bothers me that the TV coverage doesn't pick up these things. Too busy joking, showing replays, and doing special interest to bother about noticing which players are in or out.
