I understand what you're saying, my post's point remains. I never thought of "coverage" as "close, but no cigar", that's all.

I know, I just think it's weird people don't consider the prevention of a catch as part of coverage. I mean, that's the whole point of covering a guy
I think that's obviously part of coverage...I just didn't see him get beat a lot.
The other part of coverage is "how many passes are thrown at him/completed on him" and I just didn't see a lot of that.
Regardless, he's a classic "Eagle" during the Reid era. He's not that fast, he's not that big, but you can trust him to watch your house when you're out of town"

I wish I could find some stats on this. I haven't seen anyone defend that aspect of his pass coverage before. I'm completely open to being wrong and being influenced by a couple big plays, but I really can't think of him being good at defending once the ball arrives

I think the reason we noticed Considine's tackling, for better or for worse, is because he flew to ball carrier on every play. He was a hustler, baby.

Didn't Considine make some good plays in the red zone, or am I confusing him with someone else?
He seemed like an upgrade over Lewis, who really had some problems early last year.

probably got this stat partially right/wrong but i think considine led the big 10 in punt returns 3 yrs ago and was something like # 6 in the country ??
his first yr here, i thought he played special teams pretty well.
you're not going to have darren woodson in his prime as your backup at safety. considine can play both positions. keep him as the # 3 or 4 safety and make him play special teams.
the one thing i have liked about his game so far this yr is that he seems to blitz well when they send him.
next yr, the safeties should be mikell and either a high pick, or a big time FA signing. considine and whoever can be the backups.

Did they even HAVE 4 safeties on the roster? Thought it was Dawk, Considone and Mikell.

To replace Considine on the roster, Philadelphia elevated rookie safety Marcus Paschal from its practice squad.

Yeah, I meant 4 on the active roster. But there's enough room for Reno Mahe!
Let this be a lesson: Wanna make the team? Work tables during the offseason.

Or be the only one on the team that doesn't fumble kick returns.

According to Jim Johnson, today, Considine is a really smart football player. I think that means he's not out of position, reads the offense well, and takes the proper angles.

Isn't being "a really smart football player" a back-handed compliment, like being "a strong-armed QB"? It just means that they can't find anything else positive to say about you.

I thought JR Reed was still on the team and he is/was a safety
