By the way, the Steelers were mediocre last year and this year they're doing pretty well. What's the difference? The quarterback is a second year off his injury. I am just saying that when you have an injured quarterback, it permeates the team in odd ways, even making the defense off. So the whole argument for concluding that the problems of this team is coaching could be flawed.
Gotta remember that in Pittsburgh (besides Ben recovering), Cowher pretty much made it known that this was his last year, which had to affect the locker room somewhat.
The Steelers right now are the only team that's capable of knocking off the Big 2, and they'll have to do that to make it to the Super Bowl, a point I'm sure they're being reminded of every day.

starless, although I see your point there is almost NO WAY anyone, even Jones fires a coach after the season they are having... barring a melt-down(which could always happen with TO on the team) Jones has no way to stop Garrett from moving on next year... Unfortunately Reid will drag his feet making up his mind and then Lurie will have to "start looking" (in other words find someone with potential but not have to pay huge salary to start) by the time the Eagles FO gets ready to start the interview process Garrett will not only already have another job, he'll have moved into his new office, his family moved and settled in, and he'll also be a regular at some restaurant before the Eagles can even think of taking a look at him...
Tat, Garrett was Jerry's first coaching hire last off-season. I think Jerry will let Wade go and promote Garrett to HC before he lets him go to Philly.
I agree if there is anyway Jones can keep him he stays but I doubt he stays in Dallas when, not if, when he is offered a head coaching job in the NFL... just praying the Eagles make such a move, so stop pissing on my dreams it's not like the team is giving me anything to hope for...

Garrett's staying in Dallas, unfortunately.
You have to figure that if we know Wade Phillips looks clueless out there, then Jones absolutely knows the Milli Vanilli act he's put out there. Don't know who said it, but Wade's down there only to show the intricacies of the 3-4 defense to the team, and pretty much everything else is run by everyone else. I mean, did Wade bring his own coaches in with him, or he just saw a team close to the top and decided to be the public figurehead?
I'm sure Jones has promised Garrett the HC job at some point even before Phillips came on, and he's not dumb enough to let talent like that get away from him.
