Funny, EAG, yet sadly accurate.

Looks like the "new 100%" is based on a Bell curve.

Since the era has is winding down, what was Reid's biggest bust, personnel-wise?

Hmm. You might think FredEx, but he was entertaining, at least. And he has 4th and 26.

I'd say McCoy. They talked this kid up big time. Can't really say McDougle - sure, he had a shot to be it, but, well, you know.

Personnel bust-- maybe not who he picked up, but who he let go: Brock, Stallworth, Owens.

Mcdougle, McCoy.....I even venture to say Considine!! Has there even been a more smaller and less intimidating S ever???? Aren't your safeties suppose to set the tone? The Eagles history of defense has been one of intimidation and toughness. These clowns couldnt scare a troop of girl scouts.

Despite the fact that Considone got benched (which was sad by itself), he wasn't as high a pick, and he's had at least flashes of doing something right. Sure, it was stripping the ball after being dragged for 10 yards, but it's still a strip!

I don't know how you can lump Considine in with the likes of McDougle or McCoy.

FA wise, Darren Howard is a leech.

Zak,

He stinks. He may not stink on the level of the other McBusts but he still stinks. Fredex mos def was a bust when you consider Chrs Chambers was taken after him and MANY people on this board wanted him.

Oh, he stinks all right, but he was a 6th round pick and has still contributed more than McDougle and McCoy combined, is all I'm saying.

I heard Theisman offered Jaws his new "Considine Yards" stat, which is the amount of yards a player goes after Considine is attached to him

When the "acting" GM goes out of his way to praise a player who ends up not even starting the following year, you're a bust.

Left college early.
Small for the position.
Had problems all throughout the season, to the point where they sat him down towards the end.
Touted as a star.
A 2nd round pick who many scouts didn't even have on the board.

He's a bust. Even if Highway 74 lives up to his name, McCoy's a bigger bust.

The biggest problem with seeing Kolb in action is how they get him into a game. Outside of an injury replacement, we'll never see him mid-game. If Reid pulls McNabb early in a win OR a loss, the floodgates of media pressure will open wider than ever.

The only way Kolb sees action is in an injury or a lost-season, late-season start. I think FD's December guess is a good one.

I think 7 losses is the cutoff for McNabb. 8 max.

They drafted Kolb for one reason: to replace McNabb. He signed a 4 year contract and it supposedly takes 5 years to "master the system", so leaving him on the bench in a losing season when the QB is gone next year anyway is a waste. Reid didn't even rule it out in his press conference today, so that should say something.

Considine? He left the game with a shoulder injury (wasn't benched) and from my vantage point it was Dawk they were targeting...not Considine.

I think Considine is what he is: An undersized free safety who is solid in coverage and not a great run player due to his size. They have in playing out of position and he's small the position he plays naturally.

Still, I don't blame Considine for much. It's sad to watch him get dragged around the field but he's not hurting them. I'd look to upgrade him in the off-season, but if I'm making my list of things that are kiling them It just takes a while to get to Considine. I mean, when he left the game with his injury, did anyone see the defense get it's shit together all of a sudden?

I don;t have any problem with TKO either. He isn't a problem for the defense, but he's also not a playmaker anymore. I think anyone who expected him to be a force was probably not being realistic, but I think he's played well.

I also think Kearse hasn't been terrible. he gets some Mamulas, he has 4 sacks, and he's a backup defensive end. When you're talking bang for the buck you're not getting a good return on your investment, but again...he isn't the problem and he's on pace for a 8 sack season.

Howard is an abomination, however. He now trails Brent Celek by 1 tackle on the season.

You have to throw last nights game out on a number of levels because the defense didn't play well, but they've been good this year. The main problem with the defense is everyone they have is "solid".

Who is going to make a play on that D? As usual, they aren't getting a push in the middle. They spent 1st round picks on Bunkley and Patterson so they can have an undrafted second year player and grand theft Howard rushing he passer on 3rd downs. HUH? You spent 2 first round picks in back to back seasons for 2 down run players? You took one 15th overall and you gave the other a 7 year extension with $12 million guaranteed to play 2 downs? What's that, you say? Neither of your first round 2 down run stuffers are over 300 lbs.?

The best part is the guys they've been trotting out there on 3rd downs the majority of the time (Ramsey, Reagor, and Howard) have a COMBINED 4 tackles and 1 sack this year.

I just don't get that. Patterson and Bunkley are playing solid football, but you drafted them because they can get to the QB...run stuffers are cheap and widely available.

At LB, they've again been solid. They have been excellent against the run this year and that's a tribute not only to the line, but to Gocong, Gaither, and Spikes. However, once again, you have 3 LBs in an attacking defense that likes to force big plays totaling zero sacks, zero forced fumbles, and 1 INT.

In the secondary, you have a total of 5 picks and zero forced fumbles halfway through the season. How? They are now dead last in football at creating turnovers.
Bottom line is I don't think anyone on defense is killing them but no one is helping them either.

On offense, it's McNabb and Reid murdering them. McNabb is a diminished player and Reid is a a guy who peaked 3 years ago and has a 19 win and 21 loss record since then.

So which D is which, FD? The one that's been doing well in points against, or the team that got pounded last night and in that drive vs. Chicago? Do we even have the same result if this team plays Detroit right now?

It's hard to just throw out this game, because this WAS their season.

It doesn't really matter now (since the season is over), but the D last night was one we hadn't seen before.

Even in the Chicago game, the 97 yards TD drive gave the Bears 19 points for the game. Yes, it was awful. it wasn't excusable, but you can't win many games scoring 16 points.

Last night they just got beaten in every sense of the word. Awful.

And I see that coming in at least 3 more games (@NE, NYG, @NO).

Which brings us full circle as to when Kolb sees action. If they're getting blown out 52-0 at NE, does he come in?
