Alright fellas...when does Kolb come in?

The playoffs are out of reach, so there isn't a compelling reason to stick with a guy they've clearly given up on already. You are probably going to have a top 10 pick this year, so I believe you not only want to guarantee improve that selection by playing a rookie QB, but you want to get a glimmer or an idea as to what you have in him.

If he's a complete disaster, maybe you take another QB this year (just depends how bad he would be and whether or not a new regime is making the selections next year). If he shows some promise, you try to get him weapons.

Either way, my guess if 12/2/07 at home against Seattle.

They've got a 50/50 shot at beating the Skins this week an they should beat the Dolphins the following week. If they win both, that would put them at 5-5 before they take their beating against the Pats.

As fans, we need to hope Washington beats them and while it might be difficult, a Miami loss would also be great.

I think they are going to want 7 losses before they insert Kolb and I do not think they want Kolb to play against the Pats in any way, shape, or form.

Technically, no. I agree with Seth. We all thought they'd never make the playoffs after getting squashed by Indy last year and they turned it around. Things are different this year, but the outlook is similarly bleak. Reid's not giving up on the season yet, nor should he. Key word....yet.

You may be right, but that would be the biggest mistake since buying Garrett a Jay-Z CD for Mormon Christmas in 1997.

If FB believes that they're "this close" to turning it around, if some of the players have echoed that same sentiment (like Andrews, who still believes they're as good as the Cowboys), then why would he give up on the season?

This isn't to say they're not a bad team, but the coach is clearly delusional, Even if they made some sort of run, they're losing tiebreakers left and right, but no one wants to acknowledge that. You'd almost want to say that Reid is digging in to forget about his family problems.

Besides, I doubt he thinks Kolb is ready to play this year.

How would benching McNabb before they're mathematically eliminated affect his trade value? That's something to consider, as well.

Here's the thing...3-5 with a guaranteed loss coming against the Pats in 3 weeks.

They are 0-3 in the division and have already lost to 5 NFC teams that will be in contention for a playoff spot.

Last year they were 5-6 after the Colts game, but no playoff contender in the NFC was more than a game over 500. This year, there is a greater divide between the haves and have nots (in terms of wins/losses) with 5 teams in the NFC East and north at least 2 games over 500 and contending for a total of 3 spots. The Eagles cannot come back after this Cowboys loss, but I do agree that they aren't "out of it" until loss #7 is officially registered.

The current wild cards

Would it be THAT much of a difference? I think whoever has eyes on McNabb has already convinced themselves that they want/don't want him.

And there's NO way they trade him in the conference. It'd be like trading with the Dallas Cow....oh, wait...

Just so I'm 100% clear, I'm not suggesting they bench McNabb right now. I'm suggesting/hoping they'll insert Kolb once they are out of it.

I don't know about that. when they deal him, they are dealing him because they think he's basically finished and I don't think they'd accept less in trade just to keep him out of a place like Minnesota.

The only thing they'd want to make sure of is he doesn't end up in the NFC East (obviously), but there wouldn't be any danger of that happening.

That's what I mean, FD. If they're trading with the 'Boys, they're trading for the best offer.

Are you talking about the draft trade? I've never had a problem trading picks with the enemy...actual players who have been in your complex and know your system are a different story, though.

I think Reid rides this thing out until the end with Mcnabb. He is the biggest "plan" guy I have ever seen and by all accounts barring injury Mcnabb is your starting QB until they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Serious question: Would Snyder ever consider trying to get Mcnabb? I know they have Campbell but would he or Gibbs at least think about it?

Just pointing out if they're willing to trade down with a division rival that they're competing directly against, then trading 5 to a conference rival isn't that much of a stretch.

Trade Mcnabb to Chicago. Don't they have a linebacker (Briggs) that wants to leave?

Even Spuds gets into the act on the official site today, saying:

"Do players like Winston Justice and Stewart Bradley and Tony Hunt and Victor Abiamiri and – dare the suggestion – Kevin Kolb deserve some reps? "

Bradley -- yes. TKO Spikes is useless and every team he goes to turns to shit. Bah-bye.

Abiamiri -- yes. Howard has no sacks and two tackles THE ENTIRE YEAR. Bench his ass and arrest him for grand larceny.

Hunt -- meh. I'm pretty sure he sucks and a waste of a pick.

Justice -- eh, why not. Let's see how embarrassing the season can possibly get. I don't think we've reached the ceiling yet.

Kolb -- I think waiting a full year will do him good. Call me crazy, but I'd still like to see McNabb as the starting QB next year.

There is no way Reid benches McNabb this season unless he gets hurt. There is as much chance of seeing Kolb as seeing a 1-1 pass run ratio.

I don't understand this. It's not like any of the teams he went to were this no-brainer dynasty team when he went there. The Bengals were the Bengals (and their defense is still crap after he left), and Buffalo was bad before he got there.

That part of the comment was tongue in cheek, not serious. But I meant it when I said he was useless. Dude is invisible in a playmaking position.

DE's who look like Nicole Ritchie seldom do well in the NFL. Bill James did a rare football study about it.

Since the era has is winding down, what was Reid's biggest bust, personnel-wise?

Howard? 300 LB's not on the team now?
