- NFL's best team (Patriots)
- MLB's ALCS Champ (Red Sox)
- NCAAF #3 in the nation (B.C)
- NBA's top F.A period in years (Celtics)
What a spoiled fuckin fan base. "Curse" my balls!!

Well I don't think anyone has said squat about a curse since the sox finally won.
But at that time, and still today, I don't believe that one sport makes up for another. That is just a jealous championship starved Philly fan talking. You know these guys, they are the same ones who pinned their championship hopes on Smarty Jones.
In reality, would anyone here be any less bothered by the Eagles sucking if the Phillies were in the world series (KB aside)?
Boston is a baseball town by as wide a margin as Philly is a football town.
Separate teams have separate rooting interest from most people.
But I agree. F-them

A few years ago, I remember thinking something stupid like "You know, it's not really fair if the Sixers win the championship when the Eagles and especially the Flyers have been so close for so many years."
Screw that.
I'll take anything at this point, even horses.
But you're right in that a Stanley Cup/World Series win/NBA Championship won't make me hate Andy Reid any less for blowing every shot this team ever had.

I don't doubt that Neag, but by your own admission you aren't really anything but a fair weathered Eagles fan.
I honestly thought it was idiotic when people brought Smarty Jones into the equation.

I don't think anyone would have truly been sated by watching a horse win a Triple Crown, but nonetheless, it would be nice to see some Philly entity succeed when it really matters.

Totally agree Talon and that is how I felt at the time.
People and media that took it to the next level and tied the horse in with the Professional human teams is what I thought was idiotic.

Well, I guess I have a different take on this thing than most. As a result of my job, I've gotten to know a lotta guys from the Boston area, and have been there a few times as well. With the noteable exception of having teams that have actually *won* championships in the last (almost)25 years, I find them very similar to Philly fans. They're knowledgeable, loyal, and passionate (for you, Neag). They're also superstitions as hell, and quick to jump on their team to rip 'em when they make dumbass mistakes, and have the same take on living in the shadow of NYC as we do. They're experiencing a run not that dissimilar to the one we had around here from the mid 70's through the early 80's. As for the teams themselves, I can't stomach Bill, and I can't escape the notion that Francona lucked into managing one of the best staffed teams in memory, but I'm not gonna hold that against the fans. They've endured some brutal stretches (like the one that we're about to endure) with their team(s) as well. Yeah, this is their golden age, but as anyone around here will tell you, it sure as hell doesn't last.

I f'ing hate the Pats from top to bottom... come on your up 38 to nothing 10-12 minutes left in the game and it's still in doubt?!? why the fuck do you leave the starters in that late??? Fuck Bill and the whole team... I am now routing for someone anyone to fucking END Brady's career late in the fourth wuater of a game whenthey are up HUGE, no longer happy with him just getting hurt I want him out of football because he's a bitchm getting pissed off at an O-lineman for a false start when your up by 38??? your a bitch and I hope your career ends painfully... IF there is a god then it will happen against the Eagles with the Pats leading by 28 in the 4th Brady gets crushed trying to run up the score his career over THEN #5 comes alive and scores 35 points to win the game, and the Pats go on to lose the rest of their games for the next 2 YEARS Karma's a bitch...
and before anyone asks no I haven't been drinking... just fed up with the love fest the talking heads are having with the Pats... I not only want it over but I want it to be painful and humiliating, Gibbs is a class act as a coach and he did not deserve that shit.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that last Brady TD. What a bunch of assholes. The game was well in the bag and Brady is in the shotgun up by 38 with 10 minutes to play.
Oh yeah...that's sportsmanship and showboating isn't.

Sadly, Tat, there's mo way any of that will happen because Reid's too big of a pussy to get upset when the Pats have a 72-point lead late in the game with Brady still throwing.
And Jules, I believe the point spread on the Redskins game was -42, so I'm sure f-dallas understands why Bellicunt had the starters in there.

And hooky, I'll tell ya one big difference between Boston fans and Philly fans. Boston fans are sooo annoying. I hate fans of all different teams for various reasons, but Boston fans are at the top of just plain annoying. I live with these bastards 8 months a year and it makes me wanna jump.
