If he leaves I want him to LOSE LOSE LOSE and pine for the days in Philly when "It wasn't that bad I guess".
F him when/if he leaves.
That's obviously where I stand. I don't wish him any ill will, but the WIP opinion of him wil soften as time goes on and I hope he's one of those guys who "gets it" later on.
If he wins elsewhere and is universally adored by their fan base for eternity, I'll be unhappy.

Good stuff, IMS.
On top of that, when he took away his running because of the stereotype, he negated possibly one of the only ways to remove the stereotype. Would people be talking about McNabb being a running QB if he had used his legs to win a Super Bowl? Well, maybe, but that's coming from the vocal minority that can't be satisfied. And even beyond all that, he's made it a point to continue to focus on his detractors for unseen motivation, and unfortunately he comes off as disingenuous and stuck in the past.
He'll leave here, go to Chicago where sports fans "appreciate" him (in the same way they appreciate Rex Grossman), and badmouth Philly fans while he ignores his "home" crowd after he throws a few worm-burners, saying that "they understand me better and didn't boo me when I got off the plane".
Oh, I can't wait for the media feeding frenzy once the Bears come into the Linc.

Back to the question of why Vince Young "believes whether black QBs face extra scrutiny and criticism". He all but basically comes right out and admits to "selling out" McNabb.

That was facetious language, 736.
Vince Young did the smart thing and steered clear. I was just mocking the article on how Wilbon responded (in case anyone misunderstood my use of "selling out McNabb"...

Gotta love The Onion:
Donovan McNabb Has Perfect Game For A Black Quarterback
PHILADELPHIA—With 381 yards passing, four touchdowns, and a perfect passer rating of 158.3, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb had a perfect game for a black quarterback during Sunday's victory over the Detroit Lions, members of the sports media reported. "Quite frankly, I didn't think a black quarterback could put up those kinds of numbers, and I don't think anyone else did either," football analyst Peter King said during NBC's Football Night In America. "Now that I have seen it, it makes me wonder what an average white quarterback, say Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, would have done against the Lions. You have to think they would have had over 500 yards passing, eight touchdowns, and even a better-than-perfect 250 rating." King added that he has been disappointed with the play of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, saying that he needs to elevate his standard of play to that expected of a Caucasian quarterback if the Saints have any hopes of returning to the NFC Championship game.

That's great, but someone should get in touch with McNabb's handlers immediately and make sure he understands that's a satirical site.

These are the kinds of articles that drive me up a wall.
My son is constantly being attacked in the media.
He showed the world on Sunday he's back but these fools still insist on trying to make a mockery out of him.
For shame.
Love always

For those who write on Interwebs, I ask what for?
With those who do not understand the pressure African American athletes face, shouldn’t their shoes be exchanged with His for a mile? Why not?
Ah, but will they fit? Will blisters form? Will soles wear thin? This I cannot predict.
One thing I always instilled in my Son was The Onions only make you cry, but the crying is not by them but for them. For whatever is said cannot be for us as we do not receive it.
When The Onion is cut, it does not bleed as when words are used as a sword of hate does not harm those who are protected by armor of righteousness.
But we will continue focus on the Giants as to not lead our team off the trail, just as all leaders in the rights of civil activism have before us. And we will do it with heads high and unbreakable smiles.
Take heed, for it is to be again now.

McNabb went on Mikey Miss yesterday, and it was a very good interview, different from the pap that you would sometimes hear on WIP (for entertainment purposes only).
Here's the link
A very candid interview, though I think McNabb's WAY WAY off when it comes to being overly scrutinized.

From our boy Peter King in SI today. Not all that revealing, but a tangential McNabb reference, for what it's worth:
6. I think I wish CBS the best in keeping "Inside the NFL'' a great show, and I believe the network will do a great job. I'm not just blowing smoke either; I look forward to the jousts between Cris Collinsworth and Phil Simms, who will rise to the occasion with a good provocateur like Collinsworth leading interesting midweek discussions on the issues around the league.
But I think CBS made a major mistake in not including Dan Marino in the cast. As someone who worked with Marino for six years on the HBO "Inside the NFL'' show, I saw the magnetism he brought to the show every week, and I saw when we went in the field how much the public worshipped the guy. I listened with respect to the opinions he voiced on offensive football and quarterback play that were right on the money; he's been railing, correctly, over the years, about Donovan McNabb not being in the shotgun, and how much it has hurt the Eagle offense, and he's so right. I do understand the reticence to have the two-white-quarterbacks-on-the-set thing, but Marino is synonymous with the show, and I think the public will miss him greatly on Showtime.

I read that article. In it, the ESPN dude mentions how the Eagles are still talking about TO 3 years later. Unbelievable.

And the thing is Jules- McNabb STILL won't take any of the blame, it's all T.O.'s fault.
Like the articles said- T.O. is the one who's moved on...
BTW Jules, to answer your first question:
NO.

Not too surprising - I mean, McNabb isn't the type of person to just let something go. At the 100th Anniversary celebration of the Eagles, when they're honoring McNabb, you can bet he'll say something about TO.
