She reported that he told her his days in Philly are coming to a close and he thinks the organization was basically throwing him to the wolves.

Not that it means anything, but I just listed to the "trend setter" comments. He didn't say it in that hearty horse toothed laugh way he does when he thinks he is being funny. He said more with a slight chuckle almost making fun of himself.

Sadly, despite being mercilessly maligned (rightly), all his accomplishments will be lost. He'll forever be known for being a "trendsetter", just like Watters' "for who, for what" but alot dumber.

Of course, the city of Pittsburgh doesn't have that great a rep either when it comes to support of non-winning quarterbacks - we did run Cordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox (sp??) out of town on a rail. But honestly, can you even compare that to the kind of record and stats that McNabb has attained? I think I'll buy some snacks for the Steeler game tonight. GOT BEN??? WE DO!!

Sugar, our relationship with McNabb is very long complicated.

If it makes you feel any better, it's a love hate thing and runs a lot deeper than not winning a Super Bowl (though that would likely smooth over a lot of the rough edges.

Why is it all about feeling with you broads?

No one is saying the Eagles have been an abject failure like the Pirates, as you mentioned.

People are just tired of Reid and on some levels, McNabb. they are tired of the days when it takes him 2 quarters before he starts hitting the broad side of a barn. They are tired of his victim mentality. They are tired of throwing up, not knowing the overtime rules, and his corny jokes.

I don't want him to get hit by a train and I'm not blaming everything on him, but it's like an abusive relationship at this point. No matter how good thinsg might have been at points over the last decade, we can't stand the sight of each other.

As for Reid, does he get to be coach for life because he had a great run? If we all agree his fat ass doesn't get to die on the sideline in his gameday onesie, we agree he has to go at some point.

I choose now.

I think that is the first ever "for goodness sakes" on the level.

I didn't mean to suggest that she was actually Momma McNabb. Just reminds of me of Momma the way she is defending Supah 5 in this thread. Which by the way is not going to work with this group.
