1) Upset Stallworth left. No question.
Especially upset to learn about it the way I did- best friend BD, who NEVER Text's me, sends the old Text Message "Nice Job Eagles- Stallworth 2 NE".

Ugh.

2) Im OK with the flier on the LB. Honest. I mean, the $ seems a tad bizzare at 1st, but at least he is not undersized, has plenty of tread on the tires, and with the kinda commitment $wise, not only does this add another piece to the bolstered special teams but there seems to be an 'awakening' in the FO with regards to the importance of the position. I still wanna see em draft one in the 1st round if Willis or PSU Boy is still there (yes, Im softening my original stance on him)

That said- Faglepoke- Reno's done here. Fear not. I also think that Buck has a 50/50 shot to return and if not, Im positive that they'll upgrade their either via draft of FA.

Again, this is not Pro-FO spin, just my 2 cents. And I started it off with my expressin disapointment at not retaining 18.

Just heard he's supposed to make a decision today, but it doesn't sound like the Eagles submitted a proposal and Spuds has pretty much said he doesn't think it's happening.

So this means that they missed out on getting the guy people hoped would have replaced Stallworth. Now I'll have more pieces to read about Avant's blazing speed and how he could be a #1 receiver in a couple of years.

Yeargh.

Why must this team strive for mediocrity. Am i taking crazy pills?????? For how many years did the horrible WR keep this team from SB rings. They deny deny, deny it is a problem and than finally come too, get 81. Two years later we have come full circle. granted 86 is no TRASH, but he also is no 18 or 81. Bottom line, THE EAGLES HAVE NO #1 WR . Will this group of WR be good enough to win the division? Probably. Striving to be good is not enough, they should be striving for the SB. Fuck, sorry for the rambling, treo post.

mlewis, suck it up and get with the program.

Sure, they could sign great free agent WRs, and they'd win a Super Bowl. But this is following someone else's formula, and where's the fun in that?

Nay, 'tis better to build your entire team from scratch, drafting every single component and plucking key role players from the host's table at seafood restaurants. This is how a true championship is won, but son, you lack the patience to see this team through to its ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl with only drafted players and free agent waiters, busboys, and grocery baggers. We are on a 35-year plan, and we are just getting started. The Patriots may win 19 Super Bowls over the next 35 years, but those will be cheap, free-agent-laden victories, and they'll never match the quality of the one win we'll get.

In the meantime, it's March. I suggest you stop worrying about free agency and start dreaming about profits. The Quarterly Earnings Release is almost here, and I am pretty friggin' jazzed about the Eagles' revenue streams.

It's time for the lot of you infidels to stop questioning this team's accounting practices and start reaping the benefits of being a fan of the most profitable franchise in the National Football League.

The Gold Standard: Now and Forever.

FD, where did you read about SPud's thoughts on curtis?

Ask Dave forum on their boards.

You really do get a completely different vibe from him in that forum than on the homepage because there isn't a filter (so to speak).

Right or wrong, he'll tell you what he thinks in that forum. Granted, he rarely says anything that could hurt the Eagles (who they like in the draft, who they are targeting in FA, etc.) but you do get a different feel than what he gives you on the homepage.

From everything he's saying, he doesn't think Curtis is coming to Philly because he's going to get more money than the Eagles are willing to pay.

Crazyness....
Apparently the deal betwene Fowler and the eagles is off the table, or there was never a deal in place. My guess is that the agent heard whispers from Tenn. that he could get more money. Interesting and may push LB into a #1 priority in the draft if they dont trade down.

Supposed Fowler never officially signed the Eagles offer sheet (just agreed to it over the phone) and has now changed his mind and signed with the Titans.

If anyone knows more, please post. I can't listen to the radio right now, but I heard they are talking about it on WIP.

Hysterical if true.

The "Fowler signs offer sheet" article on the front page of the Eagles site has been removed, also.

This is FUNNY!

Those assholes at the Novacare complex got punked by 2 front offices in 2 days.

Just tuned in, the agent never filed the papers. Tenn convinced the agent to go back on his word, signed him to an offer. Dallas was going to match the offer so they could trade him to Tenn, Tenn sensed this and convinced Fowler to rip up the offer.

What a great PR piece for Novacare.

Here's hoping they don't botch surgeries with the same percentage that the F.O. botches deals.

Now Fowler, presented with the exact same offer from the Titans, is said to have signed the Eagles offer sheet after all.

Who knows...they definitely didn't submit it.

Basically, the story is the Titans GM had a family emergency during negotiations. The Eagles made the best offer and the agent was unable to locate the Titans GM.

Believing the Eagles were offering the most money, he signed it but before he could submit it, the Titans called him back and made an offer with much more money.

The Agent called the Eagles and told them what happened, Fowler thoughts about it overnight, and he signed the deal for more money.

Supposedly the Eagles aren't upset because they are a bunch of sensitive girls regarding "family issues" now.

However, Fowler is reportedly wearing a jar of gypsy tear around his neck to protect himself from Banner's knee curses.

Meh, so the Eagles lost out on a guy who made a whopping 6 "official" tackles last season. Sure he has size, but surely the Eagles can just draft someone that effective. Wait, maybe they COULD actually manage to pull that off...

Lance Briggs, franchised LB for the Bears, has gone public and said that he is prepared to sit out next season if the Bears don't trade him.

And you thought the franchise tag wasn't kind to the Birds...
