I thought if we were like you, then everything is a good thing.

So the Eagles are officially announcing that Kevin Curtis IS coming to visit today.

They are also hosting Ryan Fowler today. He's a 6'3" 250 LB from the Cowboys who would translate to a middle linebacker or strong side backer in this defense.

I don't know much about the guy other than the fact that he's a 24 year old special teams player and backup linebacker from the Cowboys.

He was undrafted out of Duke (currently an RFA) and the Cowboys put the low tender on him, so the Eagles wouldn't owe any precious if they sign him (though the Cowboys would have the right to match).

I just did a quick search and couldn't find a draft profile on him, but it looks like the mock drafts from 2004 had him in the 6th or 7th round and he ran a 4.81 40 at the combine. That means he was invited to the combine, which means he's one step ahead of Matt McCoy.

Interesting, though.

Does the Johnson signing spell the end of the "Reno Mahe" era?

I would think so, but you never know.

I'm guessing they are going to hope Bloom wins the job as the return man and use Johnson if he doesn't.

However, Johnson isn't really a punt returner...

That's a nice move for them. Carter sucked, so it's a "something for nothing" deal.

I think that better cap management by teams AND the dramatic increases in the salary cap have really brought trades back into the picture again over the last couple years.

haven't seen or heard anything anywhere about the Doss rumor, and he was just down in FL yesterday so my guess is that he may be close to signing but more likely with the Bucs...

He declined the deal here offered Friday- the Fat Bastard CALLED HIM and spoke to him and now both sides are said to be in negotiations to get a deal done here in Philly.

Yes- when he turned the Friday offer down outta hand, Andy called Doss himself, not his agent and said "what will it take to have you wearin the uniform?" and thats when the negotiations picked up again. on a longer term deal than the 1st, believed to be another one of those short term specials.

This stuff comes mainly from Rotoworld and NFL Network.

hate to see hood go but he wanted to start and you cant pay your 3rd CB big money in a capped league. especially when the starters are still relatively young.

when dawk is done, or at least close, from what i've heard considine will be the FS. his speed makes him better suited for that position than SS.

Eagles made an offer on Fowler...why, I'm not sure......sounds like a bigger less athletic Simoneau.....

If you weren't upset about loosing Stallworth, how about paying a LB with 40 pro tackles($262,500 per career tackle) $4mil this year...4 years, $10.5 million.....WTF?

I'm not against this move, but you do have to wonder what they see in this guy.

It also looks bad when they are making a bigger financial commitment than what it would have taken to keep Stallworth.

So once again they hamstring a Pass Happy Offense by letting speed walk out the door. Then offer more $$$ to a back-up LB (a position they've said isn't important).

I despise this FO.

If Bluntholder signs elswhere and they tout Reno as an adequate replacement, I'm done.
