I was thinking the same thing, Lito for a stud WR (either Fitz, Williams or CJ) IMO all three of those teams need a good CB.

Then sign Justin Smith and this team is all but set. Then they can go to Kearse and Howard and say they will be cut or they can redo their contract to be more "team friendly"

Then IF they drafted another O linelan with their 1st pick I wouldn't be upset at all...

true he will cost a lot but looks to be worth it, and it's not as if they haven't gone after a DE like that before, Kearse unfortunately he was just starting his downswing in his career, Smith on the other hand should just be coming into his own, not to mention he is very good on a bad Defense just imagine him on a pretty good team like the Eagles, him on one side Cole on the other the DT's are good to very good and the LB corp seems to have become a plus on the team...

i agree, im all for them signing Smith, I am just saying that any money saved by trading lito will have ZERO effect on whether they go after Smith.

The chiefs tagged Jared Allen

With Allen being tagged, that officially puts an end to the least likely off-season item on the wish list.

With Justin Smith, I don't think he's worth the big money. He's likely going to be the #1 FA DE on the market, so someone is going to pay him big, big money. He had only 2 sacks last year and while his overall game is excellent, I don't think you can pay top dollar.

Plus, he's a natural RDE, which is where Cole plays in this defense. I've said it before, but it appears Cole is much more comfortable on the right side, so I hope they take that into consideration when looking at players.

The Eagles are completely outraged by the notion that they gave Sheppard permission to seek a trade and also very careful to leave the door swung wide open to the fact that they are currently trying to trade him on their own:

"Any report suggesting that we've allowed Lito or his agent to seek a trade is absolutely, undeniably false," team spokesman Derek Boyko said.

Strong words, Derek.

I also listened to Eskin on the way home from work and he said he knew nothing of the rumors, but confirmed that he knows for a fact that Sheppard is whining about his deal.

No way they can restructure both his and Westbrook's contracts.

Why would they even consider restructuring Lito's contract?

He's 1 season into his extension and has missed 16 games since he signed it.

He's a retard.

I'm saying that even if they wanted to (and that's going outside their nature), there's no way they'd restructure both.

In the case of Westbrook, he's outperformed his - and Lito would too if he could stay on the field for longer than 7 games at a time.

Besides, he has no one to blame but himself for re-signing a couple of years ago.

Yeah, I agree.

The Eagles have never restructured a deal (under this regime), that I can remember.

Westbrook is the only one I could see them considering, but even in his case I think they have him signed through his 31st or 32nd B-day. Anything they give him would be a flat-out handout because it's not like they will get much from him on the field after that.

DARWIN WALKER HAS BEEN RELEASED BY CHICAGO!
BREAK OUT THE OLD 97 JERSEYS!!!

So I guess in our e mail exchanges a couple wks ago F_D, when we bantied about movin Sheldon in a trade attempt at a Roy Williams type, we had the wrong CB.

He signed the deal at the time, has missed 14 games in the past 3 seasons, and has ZERO leverage. NONE. SHUT UP and STAY HEALTHY, then seek a restructure (a futile effort however).

In response to F_D sayin that on the EMB they're not denying they're tryin to deal Sheppard, but denying vehemently that they gave him permission to seek out his own deal:

I think that the Eagles leaked this story, it fits their M.O. for two reasons:

Makes Lito look like the 'bad guy' and like he's whining (With Eskin stating he knows Lito's whinning only furthers my theory)

May open the door to more suitors, just 2 days before the combine where all teams will be busy scouting, tampering and talking trade.

Darwin Walker being released is hilarious. Really, truly is.

That guy got such a big head over the course of about 18 months that it was almost impossible to believe he was the same guy (he wasn't the same player, either).

Considering Eskin doesn't just let stuff go out on the radio, I believe it.

I see Walker trying to get a job on WIP (for entertainment purposes only). He's certainly got the ego for it.

Don't have to look far for that info - Detroit was dead last in the NFC in defense, giving up an average of 27.8 ppg.

He knows his system can be successful with smart, experienced inside backers (especially). For small money, he can get guys who execute really, really well in his system and don't whine about their contracts. It's a win win for everyone involved.

Yeah f-d. The exact opposite method the Steelers employ to run their 3-4. Draft em young, make stars out of them then ship 'em out when FA looms. Amazing.
