He's a huge risk, but if he still wants to play he'd be interesting as a nickel backer.

If the Eagles are going to take a huge risk this offseason you know who it should be?

Pacman Jones.

There's the game-breaking punt returner. There's the coveted young, but experienced, play-making 3rd CB (or 2nd when Lito inevitably sprains his vag).

If nobody else is willing to take a chance on him they sign him to a 1 year deal for 1 mil and cut him at the first sign of misbehavior. Nothing lost, lots to gain.

Dallas is already going after him. And taking a "huge risk" on Dan Morgan may result in Morgan having to retire, and finding a nickel LB later.

Taking a "huge risk" with Jones can result in the team being shot to death in Atlanat

But think of what a positive influence Pacman will be on FB's two wayward boys.

Even yours truly couldn't condone the signing of stupidity of that magnitude.
You'd never know if you'd have the moron available from week to week, or if you'd end up paying his lawyers more than your star player.

Rod Coleman was released by the Falcons today. I'd be VERY interested in him if he's not done. He's an outstanding pass rusher from the DT spot and might be a great nickel DT at age 32 (unless he's completely finished). He was injured in week 5 last year and ended up on IR. Apparently, he suffered a quad injury during the off-season and it lingered into the season until they finally shelved him.

The Falcons' roster will undergo a radical change -- and those moves could come as soon as Friday. Several veterans will be cut and there could be some surprises, according to interviews with NFL officials and player agents by the Journal-Constitution. The radical changes will come at nearly every position. Among the veterans who could be released is strong safety Lawyer Milloy, said one NFL official. Such a move would strip the Falcons of their most respected leader and leave the team without either of last season's starting safeties. Free safety Chris Crocker's contract is expiring, and the Falcons don't plan to re-sign him. The offense could be in for a complete makeover as offensive linemen Wayne Gandy, Kynan Forney and Todd Weiner, wide receivers Joe Horn and Brian Finneran, tailback Warrick Dunn and quarterbacks Joey Harrington and Byron Leftwich all have had their futures debated. Five-time Pro Bowl linebacker Keith Brooking could be among those released to the defense.

well that's one way to do it, basicly cut the team and start over...

Realistically, though, aside from Crumpler, is there anyone on that list that anyone would pick up? Aside from maybe Dunn?

Are they trying to show the Dolphins what it takes for a perfect season?

By definition, you would have to give their WRs a look- since the Eagles don't have any

I would take a shot at crumpler for sure. He is a huge upgrade from shoebal and would provide a great 1-2 punch at TE. Not to mention finally having a TE who is a threat in the RUNNING game...

Finneran hasn't played a down since 2005. He's done.

Naturally, look for him to compete with Duckfoot during mini-camp.

They cut him because he's gotten fat and has been barking alot. I would hold off on pining for the 08' version of Crumpler.

His #s have gone down, but as a NB, he might not be a bad look-see.

There's certainly worse options out there.

Maybe he got released because he wasn't worth the money. He signed a 5 year/$30 mil contract 2 years ago.

Unless he was getting toasted on every play (and he managed to start all their games last year), I don't see the harm in taking a look at him, though not as a long-term solution.

I still haven't forgiven Finneran for his "fumbled pass" resulting in an INT in Reid's first season as head coach.
