So the birds appear interested in two backs morris and dillon plus I'm sure they still will try to get Blunt back... now morris is gone...
Morris Details
Free agent RB Sammy Morris got a four-year deal worth $7 million with the New England Patriots. He'll get $5 million in the first two years of deal.
It’s the second time that the Patriots tried to sign Morris. Prior to signing with the Miami Dolphins prior

I would like a Dillon signing. He just doesn't has much left in his tank. He was beat up his last two years in NE. I'll have to take a pass on Dillon.
Now, Travis Henry has been released from the Titans. I would much rather see him over Dillon or Morris...

Ahman Green goes to the Texans. Does he have anything left?
Speaking of that- NO, Im not doin cartwheels over interest in Dillon- but then again I kinda doubt that they really do have any....he's said before he thinks he still can start, and thats why he wanted outta NE- cos they have Maroney. He's goin to come here to spell westbrook?
Doubtful.
Now Travis Henry, perhaps Id be for that move.

not sure if this would be the thread or not and I know mock drafts are about as accurate as weather men... BUT
First mock draft I've seen so far that has the Eagles taking a WR and not a LB(several have the birds taking Paul Puz from PA) or S.
Dwayne Jarrett
Height: 6-5
Weight: 213
Position: Wide Receiver
College: Southern California

All the "draft experts" have the Eagles taking someone different. Mel Kiper has the Eagles taking the DE from Texas....fact is, this team really never takes who you think they will(exception Corey Simon). Hell, they could take QB on the first, and it wouldn't shock me....ok, maybe a little...

Gotta love how the official site teases you with "the latest on stallworth" and the only thing on stallworth is this article. The brass is preparign for the backlash already (when he walks).

According to PFT, Randy McMichael will be released by the Dolphins.
That's interesting.
I mean, the only thing he does as well as beating his wife is playing football.
So he's really good at football.

I can't confirm this report, but Wes Welker has apparently been traded to the Pats (from the Dolphins) for a 2nd and 7th round pick.
Why on earth would you trade a guy like that within the division?
For those who aren't familiar with him, he's a royal pain in the ass to cover (Like a #2/#3 scat-WR, if that makes sense) and does a great job with returns and special teams.
He's the exact player you hope Bloom becomes in a couple years.

I like Randy M. Cant block all that well but has some great speed/size and alright hands. Upgrade from LJ, especially with LJ heading into a contract year. He will command a bigger contract than Daniel Graham.

I don't think McMichael would be much of an upgrade at all, if any.

On second thought, hey may not be that much of an upgrade. If LJ is resigning with the birds, Id rather have LJ as well. From everything I have heard, LJ is flying to coop next year and will be the #1 TE on the market. Looking at '08, id rather have RM and the Shooooowboat than the Shoaboat and a draft pick.

hit submit too quickly, the stats are the same. Not sure why my initial reaction was off. Is it me or did he have a monster season 2 years ago?

Late to the party, but I am SO not feeling interest in Dillon. He's slow, a malcontent (ya heard me, F_B), and a fumbling machine.
Even beyond that, do I feel confident in him being a short-yardage compliment to Westbrook? No.

I know this was a $$ move by the Bears. But this deal looks really good for the Jets. Like too good. Expect Jones to be struck by lighting or something before the season starts.

That's a really high price for Jones (2nd round pick), but considering how much they struggled with that position last year, I guess I can understand.
- There is an interesting report that Kevin Curtis was unable to get a deal dine with the Lions and he left Detroit. He then fired Tom Condon and now has to wait 5 days before hiring a new agent. Weird.
- Bob Brookover (who reported the Stallworth substance abuse thing) said he can't reveal his sources, but he can guarantee that it didn't come from the Eagles or through the Eagles.

Also heard on CSN that the Birds have tendered both Stallworth & Buckhalter contract offers.
Also that Stallworth would be willing (for the Pats) to play under a 1 yr deal to "prove himself".

I heard the Stallworth thing, but didn;t hear the Buckhalter thing. They need to fucking let go of Buck already. No mas.
I called bullshit on the 1 year deal. I heard that too and posted about it in a different thread, but I just don't buy it.

But the Jets recouped Chicago's 2nd-rounder while giving up Washington's. They pretty much traded back 20-25 spots in the round, while picking up a proven player who plays the position they likely would've drafted anyway. I like this deal for the Jets.

I get that and sometimes it's worth paying for a known commodity, but there will be better running backs available at that point in the draft than Jones. It's just a little gamble as to whether or not you pick the right one, which is why I can get it.
