And since John Fox knows his D, he'd probably find some way to make it work.

He cries over getting cut, but yet this is that same Simeon Rice who went on the Jim Rome show and made fun of Pat Tillman. Calling Pat a second rate player who justs wanted to be be a Rambo.

It was merely the smallest of openings for him to pound his chest and show you what a true patriot he is, just like any good Republican wearing blinders would do.

Unfortunately, there wasn't an opportunity to make a racist comment, but we're working on that...

And on a football note, it would make sense for the Giants to get on the horn and sign Rice pronto. After all, Reese didn't do anything in this offseason and Strahan didn't show up to camp while he's said to be mulling retirement.

From the Boston GLobe....

"Patriots placed WR Donte Stallworth on the PUP list.
Stallworth missed Friday's practices and WR Jabar Gaffney took his spot with the offense. The situation should be monitored closely as the injury prone Stallworth joins fellow wide receivers Chad Jackson and Troy Brown on the sidelines."

while i have no first hand knowledge of this, as i have said here before and i still contend that stallworth looked bulked up for a WR last yr.

he's injury prone and he flunked a substance test. from an outsider viewpoint, it sounds like the substance was performance enhancing, either to help him recover from injuries, or to bulk up, and the compounding of injuries are a result of taking them.

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (July 29, 2007) -- The Buffalo Bills ended Darwin Walker's holdout by trading the disgruntled veteran defensive tackle to Chicago.

In exchange, the Bills received an undisclosed pick in next year's draft.

Tim Couch signed a two year contract, which did not include a signing bonus, and will pay Couch the veteran minimum of $595,000 this season if he makes the team. He would earn slightly more in 2008.

Sadly, this DOES come under the heading of Player Movement thread-

Late last week TNA Wrestling signed suspended Tennessee Titan cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones to a contract that will see the NFL star perform as a wrestler. Jones is currently suspended for the entire 2007 NFL season, without pay, for personal conduct problems off of the field. Under his suspension, Jones is not allowed to attend the Tennessee Titans' training camp. He is currently trying to get his suspension reduced to 10-games. Reportedly the Titans has no issue with Jones getting involved in professional wrestling.

Yeah, I heard about that.

While I like the idea (and since some football players go into wrestling after their careers are over), I've got a feeling that this could be the thing that keeps him out of the NFL.

Of course, this gives wrestling the type of bad pub they so badly need after the Benoit incident.

Nothing that really makes you shake your head, Seth. However, there were a few nuggets in the thread (which was 14 pages)

"You know what's really sad?

We still haven't replaced Rod Gardner."

"I figured it out. Landry and Taylor are hitting everyone so hard; they needed to bring in some WRs for them to practice on, so our real WRs don't get injured."

"Welcome to DC Todd. You may be our new number 2 receiver."

"GO AFTER KESHAWN....

We have cap space. If we're this desperate step up to the plate and bring in Keyshawn. He can be in the starting lineup within 2 weeks......"

Priceless.

I cannot fathom how that organization repeatedly makes the same mistakes over and over and over and over. I've never met anyone so stupid that they can't learn from their mistakes - at least after the first few repeats. My God!

Scott Young admits he is a moron:

"[Offensive-line] coach [Juan] Castillo completely just started from the ground up with me, shaped me into that tool that I am now."

So I guess we should thank Castillo for that crucial false start penalty in the playoff loss last year.

On a much more positive note, I just realized that with Stallworth on the Patriots, I can call him Cocksuckerfaceworth and really mean it.
