About time they added some fatties to the line. Sean Payton wrote the textbook on how to beat the Eagles last year. The Saints and the Titans game showed that if you get into manageable 3rd downs or better yet commit to the run and stick with it that you can truck the smallish fastball DT's and linebackers all day. Watching Consindine get housed week after week got old.

I think he's always been a little suspect in coverage and has been hurt for most of the last 2 seasons.

He's friends with McNabb and trains with Dawk in the off-seasons, so I'm sure they would have taken a look if they really thought he could help them...who knows.

I just figured him being friends with McBeard and having the injury questions would give Banner a hard-on to try and sign him on the cheap. I don't recall him being bad in coverage with the Jags. He seemed to give the Colts a fit anytime they played. But I only watched the Jags sparingly.

btw, in a non-sequitar issue, someone told me today that trotter is down about 15 lbs from last yr's weight, in an effort to take some pressure off his knees.

That Freeney deal is nuts. He's a great pass rusher, but he's coming off a pretty bad season and I can't believe they couldn't leverage that.

With Peppers entering FA next year, you have to believe the bar has been set and someone will have to pay him a minimum of $30 million upfront.
