Hasn't pretty much everyone associated the Eagles organization gone on record to say that Arrington would never fit into the one, the only, the genius, the invincible, the magnificent, the brilliant, the all-powerful Jim Johnson's system?
It's common knowledge that systems win championships, not players.

Gotcha Talon, the only reason I mentioned it was because somewhere I thought I heard about Lavar bleating like a goat about wanting to possibly sign with the Eagles.
Guessing his phone is not ringing off the hook.

Philadelphia Eagles signed Kicker E.J. Cochrane to a three-year contract.
OK a little help here, why sign a kicker with Akers on the roster, I know competition but why a 3 year deal?!? it's wierd to me at least.

According to Spuds, he's considered a "rookie free agent" and all "rookie free agents" sign 3 year deals.

The Eagles are reportedly shopping backup RB Ryan Moats.
A third-round pick in 2005, Moats mysteriously fell off the Birds' game-day roster last season after averaging 5.1 yards-per-carry as a rookie. Moats is cheap and signed through 2008 and could interest clubs looking for a change-of-pace back like the Rams, Colts, and possibly the Vikings. Apr. 17 - 7:49 pm et

They'll nab a lot in return, im sure, since everyone's known around that he hasnt fit into their plans since he couldnt grasp the playbook from year 1.
The Moats Blog tho, will be missed.
Endless entries of "I gotta step up" & "I just have to study hard and show the coaches I can learn it" aren't easily replaced.
Ugh.

Not to defend Moats, but maybe if FB's playbook weren't the size of the combined Shakespearean works, there might be a chance in hell that an offensive rookie could contribute on occasion.

The guy wasn't a rookie last year, and they've had guys that were rookies that could get on the playing field once in a while.

I dont get it. The guy has been regarded as the best "pure" RB the eagles have. That being said, he is dumb as rocks.
a 5th?

5th would be a best case scenario.
Moats IS the best pure runner on their roster but the Eagles get a boner by overcomplicating things at times. They also enjoy burying players on the depth chart.
That said, Moats has no future here, so I imagine he'll be traded for a 2nd day pick or released.

Baskett seemed to do ok last year, granted most of his play seemed to be fly patterns... but he still got on the field and produced...

I'll dance naked in the streets if they can get a 5th round pick for Moats. He can't pick up the blitz, he had a extremely difficult time comprehending the Donnelly Yellow Pages they call the Eagles playbook AND in the return game he was a disaster. A 7th for him might be highway robbery.

This is the first time I hope the Eagles get NOTHING for Moats... sorry hulk but I'd rather see them cut him loose than see you dancing naked...
That said I wouldn't be surprised to see the birds get anywhere from a 3 to a 5 for him, and the only reason (although this could also be used as a draw back) look what Reid got for AJ Feely... nobody thought they could get a 2 for him and then get him back 2 years later...Reid may very well have signed a deal with "the bad man" because he doesn't seem to get bitten to badly with stuff like this...
ALSO IMO this opens the door for the birds to pick another RB and again IMO IF he's there I have an odd feeling they are going to try and grab Micheal Bush. This is from CBSportsline.com
Player on the decline:
Michael Bush, Louisville. His slow recovery from a broken leg has really hurt his draft status. He might be a third-round pick now.
I don't think he'll still be there in the 3rd round BUT I think his dropping is huge, I think if he'd stayed healthy he would have been a 1st or early 2nd round pick...

The move doesn't make much sense unless they are looking to add another RB. I like Moats on the roster just in case Westbrook is out. If they de-activate him every game, so what, at least he's there if needed, and has shown he can get yards on the ground.

I love him, too. 2nd round? It would depend on who else is there and whether or not everyone believes he'll make a full recovery. I can't see why he wouldn't recover fully (maybe not this year) and I do like him a lot, but if they have someone else who is sitting there and is ready to play now, it's a tough choice.

Funny you said that FD.
Dr. James Andrews(Bush's Doc) sent out a letter to all 32 teams that BUSH has fully recovered from his leg injury. The guy has great hands, great speed and the SIZE they need.
The question is if they will use their 2rd rounder or wait for Hunt in the 3rd. Id rather have Bush, he will be ready to play by mini camps.

i know with all the anti-PSU guys here, this wont be popular but personally, i think tony hunt will be a great short yardage and 3rd down back to start, with a chance to be a full-time back right around the time bwest is winding down.
also, a fwiw, i heard kiper was on espn this morning saying that the eagles are "praying" that the big WR from LSU falls to them at # 26. i can't see it, and kiper's wrong 10x more than he's right, but he is right sometimes. just dont think its what they'll do with that pick.
