WIP is reporting the Takeo spikes is also of high interest for Philly. I would MUCH rather have Spikes than Wilson. It seems that Wilson is NY bound.

He blew a knee ligament two years ago. Last year he had a down year. However, most athletes take 24 months to come back 100% from that type of injury. He is more athletic than Wilson. I cant see wilson playing stong side. Its Takeos natural position.

Looks like it was more severe than a knee (or in addition to the knee). He had a blown out Achilles, which is a much worse injury for an athlete.

Leave it to Philly to get hot for a LB with several career threatening injuries over someone the caliber of Al Wilson. Pathetic.

Al Wilson? Puhleaze.
No thanks.
The issue's on the OUTSIDE more than inside. And he's just as old as the guy he'd PRESUMEABLY replace. Or would they be tryin to teach an old dog a new trick? Uninterested.
Spikes DOES intrigue me, tho less after readin KBs post. I too was not aware that THAT was the injury.

Other than being a tackling machine, the thing I remember most about Spikes was his neck: the guy had an unbelievable set of traps. Actually, he didn't look like he had a neck- just a head and pyramid-shaped shoulders.

I love Spikes, but at 30 years old and 1 year removed from the achilles injury (which is the "new" ACL in terms of career alteration)...scares me a bit.
If they don't pay a steep price, absolutely. I'm sure Spikes on 1 leg is a better option than Jones and Spikes (in his prime at least) can play all 3 spots.

Any interest in Domanick Davis/Williams? The Texans cut him.
Missing the entire last season with knee injuries certainly cuts his value, of course. This team loves to grab guys with knee injuries for low money to fill the precious small-RB-that-catches-passes role.

I won a Tshirt bet a few offseasons ago when I bet that Spikes wouldn't be joining the Eagles that year.
Good times.

The Giants were close to a deal that was cut short after doing a physical.
I think Wilson's agent will be returning a call from the Eagles after all at this point.

One other player of note released was Dominic Davis, who is now using the name Dominic Williams....Bad knee injury last year, but he's a guy I would take a shot with. Big back with good speed, who was a decent player on a team with NO line.

If there is any question why the Texans still suck, there were some great reminders today.
They release their #1 overall pick 1 year after paying a $10 million option bonus to keep him.
On the same day, they release the running back who just last year was considered the reason they didn't need to take Reggie Bush.

Carr's a California native. Oakland is in dire need of a competant QB. Carr has proven he can peform decently with no line. I'm thinking he goes to the Raiders, who would love to compliment him with an amazingly talented WR.
