At least he didn't get Livingston'd while in Philly.

This is more of a "non-movement" deal, but the Giants have officially "bought back" the last two years of She-li's contract by paying him a $5 million bonus (these years had previously been voided because he reached certain thresholds, meaning he would otherwise have been a free agent after this season).

Unless his game dramatically changes this year, this can only be good for Birds fans, as we can continue to enjoy twice yearly bouts of "whack-a-Manning" for years to come.

YEah, they did. IT is NOT an extention. Just a buyback option on the contract that keeps him there till 2009 (per his original contract).

He was a pretty good pass rushing DT until he had that really bad car accident last year.

Upgrade from Rayburn, right? We'll see how it goes.

The downside, obviously, is he's another midget playing DT.

This really surprised me:

From 2004-05, Reagor ranked fourth among NFL defensive tackles with 10 1/2 sacks and was third in quarterback pressures with 51.

The deal is worth $8.25 million over three years, with $2 million in guaranteed money.

"Upgrade from Rayburn, right?"

Was it me, or did Rayburn look like an oversized elf? Ernie Keebler, all grown up.

The Part of Ed Jasper this summer will be played by Monte Reagor.

Super.

I didn't see this posted anywhere...

Skins Trade Archuleta to Bears...

... for a 6th round pick!

Is there a bigger laughingstock in the NFC even the NFL right now?

I don't think so...not if they gave him a $2 million bonus.

More like "The part of Hollis Thomas this April to be played by Darwin Walker" OR "Sam Rayburn, we hardly knew ye".

So...the Eagles so far this off season have replaced Barber with McCoy as the nickel backer. They replaced Stallworth with Curtis. They've signed a 285 pound DT.

Something tells me Heckert didn't watch the games as closely as I did.

WOULDN'T HURT TO GET A LITTLE BIGGER.

I think the Bears pick up his contract but can renegotiate. Not sure, but this was the best way for the Skins to move him. If they outright cut him there would be a huge hit against their 2007 cap.

Man, they just signed this stiff to the richest contract offered to a safety last year. Less than one year later he's gone.

Skins are pathetic. It's moves like this that make Banner look like an uber genius.

C'mon now f-dallas... that kind of thinking flies in the face of their "fastball principle" on defense.

Im far more likely to allow McCoy some time on the job in a Nickel Backer role than as a starter.

He is undersized. No denying.

That said- the guy was NOT TERRIBLE AT ALL when he played prior to the injury (which precluded him from lifting- likely saw his weight go down even further).

Just sayin'.

And FD, my crack about Ed Jasper simply means this cat's a camp body (WILL he make the team? Is he a lock? I dont care what they paid the guy, he was in a SERIOUS accident if I recall last fall)

Especially if they address DT in April, as Spuds alluded a day or two ago, early in the draft ( I know, would seem unfathomable at this point no?) Id think he's even money to get walkin papers.

I would love to see Rayburn bounce, if this Windshield face is an upgrade. Gotta see what he has in the tank, but not overjoyed or optimistic over on this side of the screen.

(For cripessake- did ONE team even INVITE him for a visit? ONE?)

I have NO PROBLEM giving McCoy a shot at the nickel backer job. He was fine until he got worn down/hurt. Not great, but fine.

Let's not forget that at the end of the season McCoy had 2 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

Trotter, Barber, Gaither, Banjo Minnow, and Dedrick Roper had a combined 1.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

I don't care if it's blind luck...at least he made a couple plays.

BTW, that stat line for the LB corps has to be the worst for any team in the NFL. The LBs on this team are like cardboard cutouts just placed on the field for show.

f-d isn't banjo in Indy now?!?

My opinion on this signing is I think it's a good move, obviously there was a serious problem getting Bunkley onto the field last year, so either the guy is a slug or he needs a mentor type guy. That said I think Reagor will be the swing man, lets not forget that this team loves it when they have the ability to rotate, and at his size perhaps they are thinking of using him at both DT AND DE... it'd be nice to have a strong DE to be in there on run downs like 3rd and short... plus he is proven at DT so the FO IMO made a solid pick-up that will push the young guys and the flash in the pan guys like Walker and Rayburn...
