With F.Agency startin on what I'm sure will be a highly productive day in all your offices Friday, and the draft looming (trades for picks is what Im thinking here, to a lesser extent for sure) this is the thread for where players are rumored to be headin/signing/traded to and for what.

Apparently Minnesota will offer Atlanta a 2nd rounder for Matt Schaub. Not goin to get it done IMO, but we'll see.

Also, those ever so clever Redskins may actually be shoppin Portis, after re-uppin Betts and havin next to NO picks in the draft in April. Stellar. Rumored teams interested were Pats, Jets and G-men (no chance, even the Skins aren't THAT stupid to trade the guy within the NFC East).

The Bills apparently put everyone on the trading block, including MaGahee. May be bluster, but I'm not sure they can't do better than him. He really isn't a "lights out" player. His trade value might be higher than his re-sign value.

G-Men are the leadin candidates to land Magahee I read.

Wait- you mean they were less than overly estatic to let the next Christian Okoye take over the fulltime duties?

McGahee is overrated. I know he hasn't been on a great team or had a great line up there, but he has averaged 4.0, 3.8, and 3.8 yards per carry in his 3 seasons with the Bills and is going into the last year of his deal here.

3.8 yard per carry backs are a dime for 2 dozen and he wants a big signing bonus to boot? Yikes.

The Bills' line ain't exactly the Hogs. A more overrated line you'd be hard to find.

Their line is relatively young now, and gone are the overpaid high draft picks who couldn't drop down in a 3 point stance unless there was a pie on the ground. But for a while Buffalo had problems with guys who could've been easily replaced by a line of King Kong Bundy, One Man Gang, Kamala, and a couple of other fat guys. Not to mention the starter was Just Punt Lossman.

Someone will give him close to what he wants, based on that fact. I think he's better than you give him credit for.

Okoye was just fine until Atwater laid a GGB-esque hit on him. On National TV. While wearing a mike.

Um, yeah....moving on:

What used to be an unconfirmed rumor is now a confirmed one. The Green Bay Packers are seriously interested in Randy Moss. From today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "The Oakland Raiders are trying to dump Randy Moss and the Green Bay Packers definitely are interested if the former all-pro wide receiver would agree to a restructured contact... The two teams have had preliminary dialogue but at this point the Packers consider Moss to be an economically unfeasible solution to their need for another receiver alongside Donald Driver and Greg Jennings... Moss' business agent is Tim DiPiero, but some of his affairs are handled by James 'Bus' Cook, the only agent Brett Favre has ever had."

As if Favre needs help throwing INTs with Moss not giving 100%.

Wasn't there a time when people considered Moss to be the best of the league? Now he's pimped out almost as much as Owens.

How ironic it would be to see Moss doing Lammy Leaps into a crowd of people he "mooned" not even a couple of seasons ago.

Moulds I find somewhat surprising. Actually, maybe not THAT surprising, considering how jacked up the Texans' offense has been as of late.

Nothing left in the tank? Worth a look this year?

Not interested in Lewis. He's quite the done one.

I don't know what the Moulds deal is, but his only TD of the season came on their first drive of the year against the Eagles.

He was having a pretty productive season for a #2/possession guy and fell off. His final 5 games he had 8 catches for 47 yards

Trent Green is rumored to be traded, makes sense with the extension Huard got and what Green's slated to make this yr.

(7 mil?)

Miami is the favorite.

And not exactly a player signing, but the Bears have re-upped Lovie for 4 years, payable at $5.5 mil a year.

With as badly as he played in the playoffs, his old aged, and his big salary, why would anyone trade for him?

If I were running a team in need of a QB, I'd rather sign Garcia.

Per ESPN:

The Detroit Lions have agreed to send cornerback Dre' Bly to the Denver Broncos in exchange for running back Tatum Bell and tackle George Foster. Trades cannot become official until Friday, the first day of the league year.

Bly, a two-time Pro Bowl performer who earned a Super Bowl ring as a member of the 1999 St. Louis Rams, did not fit well in the Tampa 2 defensive scheme employed by second-year head coach Rod Marinelli and new defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Thus the Lions granted Bly and his agent, Kennard McGuire, permission to seek a trade two weeks ago.

The New Orleans Saints, New York Giants and Washington Redskins also were in the running for the 29-year-old Bly.

Neither Bly nor McGuire was available for comment.

In Denver, Bly will join Champ Bailey in forming one of the game's top cornerback tandems. The Broncos needed a replacement for Darrent Williams, who was killed in a drive-by shooting after a New Year's Eve party in Denver.

Bly is considered one of the game's best big-play cornerbacks. In eight seasons he has intercepted 31 passes, forced 17 fumbles, and scored eight touchdowns (five interception returns, two fumble returns, one punt return). Last season Bly tied for the team lead with three interceptions and led the Lions with 18 passes defended and four forced fumbles.

Bly has one year remaining on the $22 million free-agent contract he signed in 2003 and the Broncos are expected to begin working on a long-term agreement with McGuire.

Michael Smith is an NFL writer for ESPN.com.
-----------

For the record, this means the Broncos essentially traded Clinton Portis for Champ Bailey and Dre Bly (since Bell was the pick they got from the Skins in that deal).

Clinton Portis is currently the second best running back on the Redskins roster, behind a guy they already had on their roster when they traded for Portis. They are currently have Portis on the trade block.

This is also interesting from a fantasy football perspective. Tatum Bell on turf could be interesting.

It's Miami. They need to make up for all the years that Marino was awesome.

Besides, I think they're making a mistake in letting Joey Harrington go, especially in favor of Green. I'm in no way a Harrington backer, but since he's been there he's been better than Culpepper, and he would've gotten better given a little more time. Cutting him is extremely short-sighted, IMO.

from ira miller, rating over-rated FA's, here is his # 2 and # 1.

2. Donte Stallworth, Philadelphia wide receiver

Wide receiver may be the position at which more mistakes are made than any other spot in free agency. Teams so often think they can make a splash by signing a supposed impact player at a so-called skill position, but they rarely understand, for example, the difference between a No. 1 wide receiver and a No. 2 wide receiver.

Stallworth will attract interest because of his average, 19.1 yards per catch, last season. Yet the fact is he has managed to play a full 16 games only twice in five seasons and only once has caught more than 60 passes. He could be a nice complement for a team that already has a stud wide receiver, but he's likely to disappoint a team that wants him to be its go-to guy.

Yes, he was terrific with the Eagles last year after Donovan McNabb got hurt, even leading Philly into the second round of the playoffs. But the two previous years, Garcia struggled in bad situations in Cleveland and Detroit . The Eagles are a solid team with a strong organization, and they have opted for A.J. Feeley as the primary backup because he's much younger than Garcia.

Bottom line is that Garcia still can be a good player with a good team. But most good teams already have a quarterback and need only a backup, and Garcia still believes he can be a starter. He's 37 years old and running out of time. At the right price, Garcia could be a bargain pickup for some team, but chances are the price won't be right in this overheated market.
