I guess I can believe it, KB, but what's the point of making Sayid appear dead for a short period of time? They seemed genuinely confused about the cloudy water and I thought the big boss looked concerned after cutting his hand and not seeing it heal in the water.

Seriously? I was as hopeful for this show and into it in yrs 1 and 2 as anyone but it got to the point of absurdity.

Now when i hear discussions about whats taking place on the radio or read some here I kinda just laugh to myself and am grateful i jumped ship when i did.

they definitely know what's going on, they've had it planned for 5 years (minus pieces of the storyline).

You can see it coming together now, with the two storylines last night

Regarding Sayid, my theory is that Jacob has taken over his body. Jacob was a 'ghost' talking to Hurley just before that, even told Hugo where to take Sayid so he knew he'd be there. That may explain why Miles looked at him funny, since he knew it wasn't really Sayid.

That would kind of explain everything there, so I like it.

It's one of those things that's almost impossible to speculate on because there are so many possibilities, but the one thing that is in the back of my head is "dead is dead" has been a mantra of Lost since the beginning. Almost like Pet Cemetery, once something dies on teh island it is dead and even if it comes back, it's really something else.

One thing that's pretty clear is Jacob has a very specific plan for very specific people.

Yeah, that's the theory I've read everywhere. But if there's one thing I've learned it's that the obvious is usually wrong.

Seth had it right. LOST is manipulative schlock. Just keeps creating questions without answering any of them.

Not saying there isn't some skill and even substance to it.... but at a certain point you have to come to terms with the fact that it's just a goddamn tv show.

If you've watched any of the last two seasons, we've learned a lot: why the island is like it is, who is Jacob, what is the smoke monster, what the Dharma Initiative is, etc.

I don't know when it happened, but around midway season two or somewhere in season 3 is when the show was dragging a little and a lot of people bailed.

Once they set the end date, it started getting really good again.

There was definitely a period of a year or so when it felt like they were treading water and didn't know where they were going, but they pushed past it. I don't blame people for throwing in the towel because it was starting to suck a little, but I think most of them would have started loving he show again if they stuck with it.

Yeah, I remember both of us being bored at that point. I think season 3 was the year they did two halves with a break in the middle, and season 2 and the first half of season 3 were boring, but it's been great since the second half of season 3
