This run has been great.
Readin bitter pills like this from Da Burgh, for me at least, make it sweeter....
"Haven't we suffered enough?
I mean, really. It isn't even Memorial Day and the Penguins are out of the playoffs. Now we're going to have to watch the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers play for the Stanley Cup?..."

By the time I reach Hooters on 123rd street in Ocean City MD on Saturday night I'm sure I'll be pretty fired up.
Even gonna break out my old Flyers shirt which has been stuck in the back of closet for years.

My hope is Hossa turns out to be the true Patrick Ewing of hockey and is the albatross round the necks of the 'Hawks.
Go Flyers.
Fuck the Burgh

I like how that guy says "I've never been able to work up much dislike for Hossa"... then goes on to use several paragraphs explaining how badly he dicked over Pittsburgh (which is total bullshit, by the way.)
I swear, the Penguins are the only team in pro sports whose national fanbase is a greater credit to the organ-I-zation than the local one. Meaning, the Penguin fans I know who are NOT Pitt natives, guys who jumped on the bandwagon in Mario's days and never got off, etc.--have such a better grasp of hockey than the Yinzers.

But, though the teams have changed, Flyers fans never change. They were rude and crude in the '70s. They're still rude and crude today.
eehhhh. Just loud. No ruder or cruder than any other hockey town.
