No, the field mics were picking up a couple of complete idiots on the Philly feed all night. It was really annoying, but I don't think it was reflective of the entire crowd.

ah, that makes sense Atown. i was hearing about it from people getting the philly feed, while i was watching on the "duece".

Moyer was overdue for a bad start. Unfortunately, it had to be tonight out of all nights.
I knew they were in trouble the second Howard and Burrell couldn't get it done with Rollins and Utley on with no outs.

I would think a huge part of it is Omar Minaya and his never-ending quest to fill the roster with Latin players.
That's not a smart-ass comment, either. It's probably been the biggest criticism of the guy by Mets fans to this date.

Well, if your statement is accurate, I would guess the Yankees are the old, traditional team... people who are new to the sport, the country, whatever... may have gravitated to the new, "hip" team in the glory days of the mid-late 80s. The Yankees weren't very popular up there for my entire childhood.

As you can plainly see, the problem with Minaya is not too many Hispanics, it's his insistence on putting together a team filled with set-up men who pitch about as well as I do.
