Johan Santana deserves SO much better. Is it too late for the Twins to change their minds and deal him to the Red Sox??

Santana single-handedly keeps their postseason hopes alive. On three days rest.
Watching this game with Mets fans was fun, they were terrified Manuel was going to take him out.

cmon lidge- lets get this done.
brutal.
havin mccarthy head to the lockerroom for the 'expected celebration' could be an early celebration type jinx.
4-3, only 1 out, 2 men on...
ugh.

Lidge really does look like he has "post-season goat" written all over him. Of course, that would require the rest of the team to hit the ball and even get him in a position to possibly fail.

Well, good for the Phillies. They definitely deserved it more so than the Mets. Though I'd feel better if the team voted Aaron Heilman a share of their playoff winnings.

Milwaukee is really similar to the Rockx in that they're second half pitching was unreal this year. Fortunatley, Sabathia has pitched 10 games in the last 11 days

I remember Brett Myers calling in to WIP the day of the Superbowl, drunk as shit from his hometown of Jacksonville, saying the Eagles were going to lose.

Agreed.
Ideally, Phils win today and clinch.
Mets win and Brewers lose today.
CC pitches tomorrow. Brewers win and Mets lose.
Phils face Brewers with Hamels starting game 1. CC doesn't make an appearance until game 3.
Well, I got what I wanted. That's usually a bad sign.

Anyone who's ever really followed the Mets knew tha ball wasn't going anywhere. Identical to Piazza's fly out to end the WS in 2000.
