He can't. Did you watch the game last night at all?

I'm just saying I wouldn't trust him in the playoffs if there was 3 lefties coming up in order in the ninth.

I did watch the game last night.

They won 6-1

The guy has converted on every oppurtunity and you want to find fault?

You say he "can't pitch to lefties at all" like he is Kyle Kendrick

Well if there is one fault, it is the fact that he struggles with lefties. Just something to watch out for more than anything. But as long as he gets the job done its probably not a problem.

It's all relative. His OPS against lefties is still under .700. You act like he's facing Bonds every night

And unless the Phils are playing the Phils, they won't play pitch against 3 lefties in a row. LOL!

I hope he keeps it up. I don't want that first blown save to come in a crucial spot over the next few days.

So wait, does he struggle or not, or are you just worried about the future? If you are, get a dog

Is it just me or does he run the count full to almost every lefty? You don't see that as a potential problem?

26 AB's this year total, not sure how many came gainst lefties. But 26 total, and that 3-2 count could come against the same batter in the same at-bat several times.

Do you go to baseball-reference for those stats or another site? That breakdown of pitch counts is pretty damn sweet.

Hey, I just heard that Lidge is 38 for 38 in "save opportunities" this year (whatever that means!) Is that good?

Someone else mentioned earlier the "Gary Anderson 1998" spectre with Lidge.

Gotta admit, since this IS the Phillies we are talking about, that has been in the back of my mind.

It'd be funny if the Marlins crept up from behind, knocking out the Mets for the WC in the last weekend of the season.

Whoa, they play each other last weekend of the year. I thought they finished with the Cubs. Well, that could be interesting if the Cubs show up for that four-gamer.

If that happened, I would bet every dollar I could get my hands on that the Marlins would beat the Phillies in the NLCS. That script writes itself.

From Zolecki today:

"Howard did not strikeout once in the series. It's the first series he hasn't struck out in this season."

He is also no longer leading the league in Ks.

He hasn't been the same since the All-Star game and he said he felt weird, so I can definitely see it.

Wow. No K's in the series. Who would've thought that after hitting below .200 for a good part of the first half, Howard would be mentioned for MVP? Amazing. His level of production is astounding. A 1.379 OPS in September.
