The Pirates Have Made History
"The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their 82nd game of the season last weekend. With that loss, the Pirates clinched their 16th consecutive losing season, tying them with the 1933-48 Philadelphia Phillies for the longest such streak in professional sports history.
It's quite an accomplishment."

Tough loss if they don't come back.
And let me give ya an idea of the Reds inning against Milwaukee today
- Batter 1 gets thrown out at the plate trying to go inside the park
- Batter 2 incredibly does the same thing
- Batter 3 triples and understands what a hold sign is
- Batter 4 hits an infield single, runner doesn't advance
- Batter 5 hits infield single, slow ass man on 3rd stays put.
- Batter 6 hits a single in the gap, but gets thrown out going to 2nd before the turtle on 3rd base crosses home plate

neag, are you serious? what you describe might be the most unproductive inning in major league history.
6 hits, 13 total bases in one inning and no runs?

sorry, 12 total bases. i think that technically it is not possible, mathematically, to have more total bases in an inning and not score.

Howard is en fuego.
Too bad Burrell, the 4th and 5th starters, and the 8th inning guys can't follow suit.

Jamie Moyer - what can you say? The guy is a living superlative. Beyond words.
Now that they've won game 1, of course, they will lose the next three. A blown lead in the 8th inning for Hamels tonight followed by Blanton and Kendrick/Happ getting shelled.

There is no possible way that Kendrick goes to the hill on Sunday, right? I mean the guy has completely and utterly lost it. They will probably start Myers on 3 days rest and further his progression towards Tommy John Surgery.

I made a bet with a friend that Utley wouldn't hit more than 40 homers this year right before he went on that hot streak in May. Looks like I have a case of cold ones coming my way.
Utley has turned into a singles and doubles hitter who folds in clutch situations.

Utley is waaay beyond 'due' at this point.
im thinking he simply cant at this point.
we'll all read in the offseason how he's played all year hurt with that hip thing that they've kinda denied durin the season. i say kinda cos they downplayed it a lot but didnt truly say it wasnt a condition.
blanton is a fat pig.
