Best time of the year is in the fall.
About a 85% reduction in people.

I fucking hate it when people leave long boring voice mails only to say their call-back number at the end so fast that I have to replay the entire message.

Happened to me twice already today. Kill.

it's tricky leaving a professional VM. on the one hand, you want to have your message include all pertinent info and not sound terse or possibly cryptic ("having an issue with client X, call back ASAP"), on the other hand you don't want to ramble.

but you're right, need to leave the number close to the beginning of message if possible, say it slowly and for f-sake, repeat it at the end.

Neag-

The Fall Guy?

That one's questionable. Agree with the others.

I'd substitute the A-Team for Fall Guy in a heartbeat.

The Hulk tv intro deserves to be on the list.

Same with wonder woman if only to watch Linda Carter's boobies bounce.

If the person calling me doesn't leave a call back number during the first five seconds of a voice mail, they don't get a call back. I do not listen to peoples voice mails. A voice mail should never consist of more than "This is xxx, call me back at xxx-xxxx".

I have a relative by marriage whose name I won't mention who literally has full conversations with herself on voice mail. I've had messages from her that have lasted literally 8 or more minutes. It is for this reason that I have not enabled the voice mail function on our home phone and refuse to listen to voice mails on my cell phone.

my parents are masters of the "conversation with themselves" version of a message, no matter how many times i tell them that if i see their number on caller ID, i will call back, but will immediately delete the VM. yet they persist.

with cell phone's "missed call" feature, there is no reason to leave a message (speaking of personal, not business, calls). my wife's strategy is usually just lets the inbox fill up so that you can't leave a message. i don't go that far, but i see its merits.

I have a strategy for dealing with phone calls from this person. When I owe her a phone call and don't have time to talk, I either make a point of calling when I KNOW she isn't home, or:

I take my home phone and cell phone and dial her number on both at the same time. One phone will ring her number which makes her line busy (ie voice mail will come on right away). I immediately hang up the ringing phone and use the other phone to leave a message. I have then fulfilled my return call obligation without having to actually spend an hour on the phone.

I have to admit though, that I AM starting to feel a litte guilty. She keeps replacing her phones because she can't figure out why she always seems to have voice mails, but never actually hears the phone ringing.

I also hang up on someone immediately when they put me on hold to answer call waiting. Then when they call back, I blame them, saying they must have hung up when switching over.

Adam West's smarmy comment about "the Asian" when talking in the interview, for one.

The thought of Burt Ward cowering in his bed at night in a sweat after being told he's gonna face Lee, for another.

Being called 'the Asian' is pretty advanced. From some older coworkers I've heard 'those Orientals' before.

He wasn't a home-run hitter like Sanders, but I'll take 2nd and 5 over 2nd and 13 any day. A lot of that had to do with the O-line, I realize.
