There's a definate difference between Wildwood and North Wildwood

My parent's house is back on the bay in N Wildwood.

Love it down there. Staggering distance to all the bars. "SHARK IN THE WATER!!!!"

But the boardwalk, and bars like the Fairview and Shamrock? Out for that. Also that one strip joint that only plays Aerosmith.

Zak you struck me as a Margate guy.

There are like no bars left there except Big Al's place and the Geators

Robert's Place, where the gourmet cuisine is served on cafeteria trays as opposed to plates.

Perfect place for watchin' the Phils and gettin' a buzz on.

To the people who wear liners, was there an accident during your circumcision or something?

Hell no to the Iroc. Cmon !~

Zak - I'll second NEAG's take on you bein Margate.

More than ANY other line, ever read on the level in all my time here- THIS ONE had my jaw drop:

"Also that one strip joint that only plays Aerosmith"

This statement couldnt be more true, or recognizable.
I went there a lot durin the same period and beyond, before bein 21, and maybe even after, and it was 2 to 1 Aerosmith to 'the field' in songs played.
That memory NEVER left me.
That
Is
ASTOUNDING.

I had the disadvantage of never going to the shore as a youth. My folks just weren't beach people. I didn't see an ocean front beach until I was 19 and went with a group of friends. We went to Avalon... I loved the experience but hated the water. I thought it was filthy and disgusting. I couldn't stand walking around in something I couldn't see my feet in.

Since then I've been to Maryland, Delaware and not liked those beaches much better. We take our kids the Outer Banks in North Carolina. That is a stretch of beach I could visit every year.

I just don't have the childhood memories to get me past the disgusting beaches of New Jersey.

The beach ain't about the water. The beach is about sitting in the sun and looking at all the hot ass walking by in their underwear (basically).

My parents have a house in Cape May. It ain't bad now, but back in the day when the boardwalk consisted of two small arcades and a taffy joint, it was the most boring place on eart.

I became a punch-out champ...

I did a lot of sneaking beers and eating chowder at the ugly mug.

I am with Zak on this one.

The only time I hit up the water is if it's really hot or I have to piss.

If the water is cold, I just dig a hole in the sand, lay on my stomach, pull my doodle out and clandestinely go in the hole

Munch, I was at the Ugly Mug last summer after a wedding. It seemed as if the bridal party were the only people in there plus a few locals. Saturday night, they even had a live band. Good times

Great little place.

I traded in my "Lifetime Membership" to Fred's and am now a Mug of the Ugly variety (or moreso anyway).

Yeah,
Cape may is not the biggest party town around and back then, the ugly mug was the ONLY bar.

NO doubt.

But its a relaxing little bar- they have live music as you said NEAG which i always prefer- they have a DJ 1 nite a wknd and they attract a younger crowd those nites- and the BEST is the Karaoke nites.

They have a REGULAR CROWD that includes a woman who wears a teal robe type deal and a metal hat, no crap- a tinfoiled or metallic covering of a hat and an Obesse man with a parot doll sewn onto his Magnum PI lookin shirt.

They "Compete" and there's a table full of faux Judges who 'score them' and these idiots are serious.
For the regular patrons (Thursday nites) we all go speciffically to SEE these knobs do their stuff.

Each one (they all sit together in the middle of what on Sundays is the dance floor, at tables) gets angry whenever a normal customer not in their flock wanst to do a song too.

Its a great nite of laughs, suds and wings.

Cape May = old people and French Canadians.

Not the most fun place to spend your summers.

Can you drink beer on the Jersey beaches that aren't private?

I miss it, too. That's really the best time to see you guys because it doesn't make sense for me to come to most level outings, given the distance (especially now). That one includes an overnight stay and an activity, so it's perfect. Hopefully we can get it going again soon...great, great time.

may as well say now that the charter is always able to accomodate 1st timers- the boat holds plenty and we never have had too many wish to go (tho we have had some quitters, ahem Scotty).

So anyone who wishes to give it a whirl, next time the talk resurfaces please dont be shy- speak up.

Yes, you just can't be blatant about it. A plastic cup and you're all set.
