Pens shut them down this game. If the best you can hope for is lamenting how close you were with shots off the post, that's probably not a good thing.

Still, it's just like the Sixers - building blocks of a very good team are there. Nothing to be ashamed of - that Pens team is a buzzsaw. And that's coming from someone who doesn't follow the sport.

As for the Flyers, I see a team that may be close, but lacks the toughest thing to find, offensive difference makers and defensemen that can play in the "new" NHL, i.e., move the puck on the Power play, get up and down the ice, and still not give up too much positionally on D.

Glenn- they have 2 such defensemen.

Just not playin in this series due to injury.

And Gagne is a sure fire sniper- also not playing.

They're not as far away as you MAY think.


I actually would like MORE defensemen, and if a Goalie were to be made available, honestly, they should at least investigate it....
