Pens are BETTER.

Things had to bounce right a couple times for Philly to win this series, we all said it, and thats before losing their two best defensmen.

And that they did.

So what did anyone here really expect?

I did think that they'd win tonite and lose tomorrow- and lose the series in 6, that was the initial call for the series.

Philly (disagreeing with GGB here) will be a contender I think for years to come, and theyre light years ahead of where I thought they'd be thinking of their future this time last yr.

Of course this sucks, losing sucks. BUT if you step back, evaluate it, take off the orange glasses, they were beaten by the better team.

Pittsburgh isnt being given this series by the Refs and the Flyers arent layin down or intimidated by Pittsburgh, it is what it is.

A very nice season. Tons of reason for optimism next yr.

And I enjoyed all the national articles today about how "savage" the Philadelphia fans have been. Nevermind the fact, the only the Flyers have had things thrown at them by opposing fans...but that never gets reported.

Not that any of this matters because Pittsburgh is about 100 times the team the Flyers are. Their defense is way too fast, and without their top two defenders, they don't have a prayer.

Honestly, I smell an 8-0 blowout (ala the final game of Barber's coaching career) on Thursday.
