If there is a Canadian Hockey team in the playoffs you can count on at least one riot, be it for happy or pissed off reasons.

Especially if it's the LAST Canadian team left in the playoffs.

Right, like this town ain't gonna burn down if/when Willie the P ever relinqueshes his death-like grip on those big trophies. Just gotta hope that most of the damage is confined to inside the proposed C-FM lines.

Nah,

Philadelphians have so much more to riot about than a sports team. Its just that moose tipping gets tired after awhile up there.

I watched the Flyers game on the package last night (it comes with the MLB package, which is sweet), and it was on Hockey Night in Canada. They were very embarrassed about the riots. They were like "people in the States were talking about it!"

I guess they don't get noticed by 'mericans very often up there.

They hate us.

My client's home base is in Toronto.

Im up there last year, and we're taking a limo from the airport to our meeting, and we pass Lake Ontario...

I make 1 little remark about how beautiful it was and that guy cuts me off mid-sentence and goes into a dialogue about how 'YOU" are "Ruining it" with all the pollution and total disregard for nature and the Earth and all.
His rant lasted a good 3 minutes, citing examples of companies and waste management etc and then he fell silent again for the remainder of our ride.

Awkward.

Something like 85% of their population lives within 50 or 100 miles of the border.

The Canadians I know (more than most people, I'd guess, due to involvement with youth hockey and the like) often have a HUGE chip on their shoulders when it comes to the US. One guy told me about how he has no trouble mortivating his kids when they play "you guys." (his way of describing Americans.)

Keep in mind this is youth hockey, Canada vs. the United States. It's like saying Mike Tyson has no trouble getting motivated for bouts against Gary Coleman.

They have a big brain drain problem. Because their taxes are so high and our economy tends to generate more high paying jobs and because it is so effing cold, a lot of people who can leave for the US do.

Montreal is a weird city because you have the English side and the French side. When I have been there for both business and pleasure I can easily say with no prejudice the French side has more a-holes than this site tenfold. Then you have the dynamic of a small set who dont even consider themselves French-Canadians but French living in Canada. In short they hate us.

Nice win by the boys tonight.

Thought they were gonna blow it but they came through in the end.

The goalie for the Fags is a fraud.

I never likeed butterfly goalies and he is one.

The Flyers seem to know that as well.

They are waiting for him to go down and then shooting over his shoulders. A beautiful site to see.

Flyers look hungry and for them to come back tonight after they way they lost the 1st game is a good sign.

Gotta keep it going in front of the home crowd.

I'm a little concerned about that. I think they play more tight at home.

Either way should be a good series here on out.

The great thing and the terrible thing about hockey is that seeding doesn't mean shit.

Still think the Habs take this, but we got ourselves a series.

Wish the still played at the Spectrum, where the real fans would rock that joint

Biron stood on his head. The pointy tip of it.

I'm shocked but if the Flyers advance, I don't think they'd get past the Pens.

Briere seems to have hit the proverbial wall. Doesn't seem like the guy who played the first 5 games in the Caps series. Thankfully, Umberger got it going.

I know he scored yesterday. Just felt that when he's carrying the puck across the blue line (and is not going to dump it in the zone), he seems unsure about what to do with the puck. He just didn't seem to have the awareness, the zip on his passes and tended to get smothered when they cycle.

Prospal is definitely fatigued.

Hatcher is shocking me. Never seen him this aware and almost seems nimble. Shocking.

This is going 7 games.

Habs are overrated in so many ways. Imagine if Philly fans acted half of the way they do. One more reason why I can't stand the media. Bunch of lazy no-talent hacks.

Habs are a good team, but a championship team doesn't get taken to 7 games by an inferior opponent.

That don't make much sense, Bass. By extension that would mean that no Championship team has ever or should have ever gone to and won a 7th game in a Series.

GGB, by all accounts, most people have given the Cup to the Habs.

They hype they're receiving (and to a lesser extent the thrashing the Flyers have gotten in the media) is awarding them the title before they've won it.

I'm not saying no championship team has never gone 7 games against lesser teams. I'm saying that THIS team, based on where everyone put the Habs, their rookie phenom goalie (who's getting outplayed by Biron), and their #1 seeding, shouldn't have taken 7 games to dispatch the Bruins.
